BMW 520D F10 2012 - POV Driving Experience

A awesome car with good balance between sport and comfort, perfect for longer journeys for a person who loves to drive. The engine performs very well and have very low fuel consumption on longer journeys. This car is fitted with EDC (electron damper control), M-Sport and sport gearbox. BMW claims 0-100: 8.3s
We did: 0-100: 8.9s with no brake launch or traction off due to wet road and worn winter tyres. Also, the car had a deep sound, due to DPF regeneration
Negative things about this car:
-There was some vibrations from engine and footwell during low rpms, but the car has done 165.000km. not brand new. Also some drone noise at low rpm together with vibrations engine.
-The car had worn door handles as many other F10s
-Some rattles on interior while driving, when you touch it its silent.
-A lot of engine noise, the 2014-2015 facelift got a new engine, which is way more silent... tested the facelift too but no video sadly.
-Engine choice, yes the car has low fuel consumption and good reliability but BMW is known for the 6cyl and it is a different world with them. So why not choose the 6cyl instead when they offer awesome sounding engines and the throttle response. 530d is the way to go for, also different gearbox on them, the 525d has same gearbox as 4cyl as we know.
Positive things about this car:
-Powerful to being a 4cyl diesel and only 163hp (this is mapped down from 184hp due to tax).
-Amazing fuel consumption, down to 5.5l/100km or 1200km a tank (70l)
-Spaceouis
-Silent on higher speeds, no wind noise or road noise
-Classic BMW design and stylish with the M-Sport pack, the car had white interior and dark exterior, does well with the design.
-Good reliability.
-Impressively sporty! Performs like a hatchback on corners. So, if you want comfort, spacious, family friendly and sporty car this is perfect. A good variation/balanced car as we said at the first.
Competitors: Mercedes E-Class W212 and Audi A6 C7
Our verdict is, test it and buy a 6cyl diesel for even better experience, the BMW 5-Serie F10 is a awesome car. 520d is a good car, depends of what your needs are and interests. For better fuel consumption the 520d is way much better.
