As with the decision to build Plant Dingolfing during the oil crisis of the early 1970s, the entrepreneurial vision of the BMW Group is still very much in evidence at the site today. Thanks to extensive investment, Plant Dingolfing is extremely well equipped for the future - and the transition to the BMW iFACTORY is tangible. The best example of this development in the areas of "lean" and "digital" is winning the renowned Automotive Lean Production Award in 2022. The Technology Assembly was recognised for the rollout of intelligent camera systems for quality monitoring (AIQX), for example, as well as smart logistics solutions and the IT platform IPS-i for identification and localisation of objects. Last year, the plant also piloted Automated Driving In-Plant (AFW), deploying the new BMW 7 Series along routes between the assembly hall and the finish area. This is being rolled out on a larger scale with the launch of the new BMW 5 Series.
In the field of sustainability - the “green” aspect of the BMW iFACTORY - the site has stepped up its activities in different areas in recent years: from promoting biodiversity on plant grounds, to preventing and recycling waste so only around 600 grams of waste for disposal remain per vehicle produced, up to and including decarbonisation measures. In addition to sourcing green power, the location has also signed a far-reaching contract for the supply of locally-produced heat from regional biomass for heating purposes. This will meet around half the plant’s process hot water requirements from the middle of the decade onwards, reducing its CO2 emissions by 10-15% as a result.

Best just buy the Skoda, because according to most customer satisfaction and reliability surveys, Skoda are always rated way higher than the fancy German stuff.....

So genial und perfekt der ganze mega logistische Ablauf auch aussieht, die Qualität ist bei weitem nicht mehr dieselbe wie sie einmal war. Leider nicht nur bei BMW. Und was die Optik verschiedener Modelle angeht, nun ja, beim Fußball trennt man sich schneller vom Trainer als von Car-Designern….

BMW Qualität, insbesondere die Verarbeitung der Innenräume ist deutlich besser geworden. Meilenweit besser als was Mercedes, z.B. im EQE verbaut.

Sieht nicht mehr nach BMW aus. Könnte von der Optik her ein beliebiges Modell aus Fernost sein. Oder etwas koreanisches.

wären die mitarbeiter informatiker, so müssten die nicht am fließband stehen und malochen. statdessen könnten die von homeoffice arbeiten, nebenbei kaffee trinken und kommentare bei reddit schreiben

I'm not. A friend of mine has bought new BMW's exclusively for the last 30+ years. The number of warranty claims he has made has seemed astounding to me. New engine, new gearbox, new suspension components, electrical issues..... Me? I buy used "bread and butter" fords, Skodas etc. Never needed a new engine or gearbox yet, in 50 years of driving.

I became far more familiar with the BMW 5 Series this weekend than I ever thought possible, when one left the road outside my house and crashed through my fence, ending up in my garden....about a metre below the road level. It was a fairly new 530d M Sport, for those who like details.....

Yes. To me, a M5 is powered by a V8 engine, and I don't like the flat screen panel. It's very distracting to take your eyes off the road to scroll a video screen. I'll only buy a car the has real instrumentation, and control knobs.

Mancano fasi di lavorazione es.stampaggio ,le operazioni prima della verniciatura es. Fosfatazione cataforesi ecc.ecc!
Himmel noch mal, so viel Aufwand für so eine heßliche Karre! Gegenläufiger Drehzahlmesser und jetzt auch noch richtig eckig! Wer hätte gedacht, daß man sich 2023 einen Chris Bangle zurück wünscht! Und diesen Designmüll auch noch zu diesen exorbitenten Preisen! Das schreibt ein BMW-Fan der seit 1986 privat BMW (seinen ersten neuen E30 in München-Freimann abgeholt hat) fährt und heute noch einen BMW hat (E92 mit N52) und nie wieder hergibt! Behaltet Euren Design-Müll der in China ja soo gefragt ist und auch gebaut wird (alle X-Modelle). Ich wollte nur noch mal bedauern, daß es mir leid tut!
