That A5 is still beautiful today. That thing has timeless styling.

This A5 is already 2 years old. Can't really compare the lacking. Both are still great cars. A5 is definitely a head turner though.

Great review guys. You could go a little deeper IMO, but still a great review. My only "complaint" is that you should have taken the bmw with xdrive to be a perfect comparison. But still, great choice of cars to compare and great review. Bravo

definitely Audi A5. Series made 2014-2016 the best shape of A5's ever made. I just bought 2016 A5 coupe after making up my mind between BMW M3 E92, Nissan 370Z and BMW 5 series. loving it and specially how it looks. Heard the lot of issues about the engine and electrical but hey life is too short too ignore a fine body

Nice vid as a look back... I bought the BMW 328i in 2014... Compared it with the Audi 4... BIG difference for me was the TRANSMISSION Software Mapping... Both have essentially the same ZF 8-Speed unit, (so a ZF tech in SoFlo tells me) but IMO, BMW did a much better job in operation, smooth, shift matching with drive mode, etc. ... So, makes the driving experience more enjoyable, intuitive, comfortable, etc... THX!

When you switch the 428 to sport plus it be comes a completely different machine steering tighter more responsive , faster shifting , more turbo , suspension damping … they Didn’t even mention this

I've got an 09 A5 and I love the car for sure but I can't wait to see what the next generation model looks like. The interior is still nice and was by far the best when it first came out but will need an upgrade if they want to stay ahead of BMW and Mercedes in the next generation

Honestly you can’t go wrong with either car. Both are beautiful vehicles. I test drove both brands, and it is BMW for me. However, Audis are also amazing cars. It’s a close call.

Great review, I think its going to really come down to a prior pref for either Audi or Bmw. For me, def the Audi even if the interior is a bit dated, that can be upgraded with after market gear. Funny ending :D

Brady Garber the 4 series gran coupe is a sedan that still has that aggressive sporty coupe look unlike the 3 series witch still looks amazing but is not as sporty looking.

I own a Audi A5 2.0T and the last 3 years I believe it is the best looking production car under 90k, but the BMW is brand new, so I would give it to them, I cant wait to see what Audi can do for the Audi A5 B9 it should be a better match for the BMW. The interior is looking outdated now since they have had the same structure for last 5 years.

Test drove both. Although less powerful, The Audi wins hands down. Why? it felt more adaptive as a daily driver. But this is from a former Porsche owner so my opinion matters not. .Anyone else tired of the dated and ancient BMW front fascia?

I am really in the process of considering to buy one over the other but can't decide which one.

A few Goodmen I don't know if you ever decided, but I have an a5 and absolutely love it to death. I have a 2009 and it's just a stunner. It's better made and it will last longer (I'd stay away from the turbo engines in the 2009-2013 era because of issues with oil consumption). I have the 3.2l and it's been great.

I like how one guy chose the Audi and the other guy chose the BMW. Just goes to show you that both cars are nice. And anyone who owns either of these is a lucky person. I would pick the Audi just because of personal preference.

I had the Same Question last year the Audi A5 2.0tfsi or Bmw 428 i choose the Audi because of the interior Design and Quality and beacause its an Facelift but nonetheless the 4 Coupé is sexiness pure 😍

Totally right. that front grill is still very up to date. the change of the face of cars are a marketing trick, seeing everyone is pulled into buying the "latest model"......years ago that wasn't the case. the product doesn't change (function/tech) as much as the look does. love your point. looking at an A5 now, hope it all works out🙏

Despite disagreeing with each other they still managed to make it known without offending or putting down the other throughout the entire video. I like that. i didn't even consider the Mercedes-Benz for this body style, so I have to say my choice has to be the BMW. The A5 is still a great contender.

i did get the 428i xdrive but im not crazy about it. The rear vision because of the high head rests is dangerous. Not enough storage space inside and the trunk as well. Looking to do a swap a lease and get out of this lease.

My 2015 428l is leaking oil at 29k miles. Lover pan gasket is leaking oil and oil filter housing gasket is leaking oil too. My warranty expired a month ago, and I got bill at BMW's dealership $2200 This is common issue with 328 and 428 oil gaskets failing after some time. Buy extended warranty or stay away from this car.

Fearzzy A5 looks way better when it’s a nicer colour like white, black or silver and when you swap the grill with an rs5 grill it makes a huge difference to the appearance. Audi a5 has more potential.

We have 3 BMWs in our household and the statement about the steering not being consistent from vehicle to vehicle couldn't be more true. The 2005 X5: takes more force to turn, but very touchy when moving. 2001 325ci convertible: phenomenal handling and feels perfect. 2009 328i convertible: not as responsive as the E46, but definitely responsive and comfortable.

A5, forever. Jaguar XF, upcoming XE will never match it for sales and customer satisfaction.

The A5 is from 07/08 and it shows Audi were the leader in pushing the BMW to find an answer to the coupe segment as yet another niche. The styling on the car that is over half a decade old has proven to stand the test of time, while not taking away from the fresh look of the 4 Series which is fine as well. Its a shame other than the A5, R8, Audis seems to have a copy and paste look across the range. BMW also has some questionable styling cues - 1 Series bulge eye and X-boxes I would love to see what the 2016 A5 brings as BMW leads with the power/efficiency side of things.

428i > A5 435I > S5 M4 > RS5

Having driven both (on test drives, so you can't exactly go mental) I went for the 428i. There's just something incredibly dull about the A5.

So many comments on here by ignorant people. Some just don't get it. The Audi A5 here is older but it's an original timeless classic. BMW played catchup with this one in particular. The Audi is still the better looking car with the better interior. quattro will leave that BMW behind on a normal road. The Audi 2.0TFSI has always had superior power to the BMW -20i engines. It started from 180 up to 230ps which became -28i territory but from a 4 cyl. The 428i here has 245ps, which is more than this Audi. The latest 2.TFSI now going into the new A4 has 252ps .. More than the 428i. Catchup BMW Audi have you beat.

A measure of a car is its quality. audi has lots of it and looks great. The A5 is an outgoing design, it's been around 8 years yet hasn't aged. It still looks fresh and still as good as the new BMW. That speaks volumes as to how good this car is. Audis aren't dull to drive. quattro is very good, it gives great traction, and let's you have fun when the BMW can't go anywhere.

+Sandouras I never tried to pass of looks to justify one over the other. My point is the Audi is an older design but is still just as good . The A5 has aged gracefully and the 4 series is a reaction to its success.( 3 series coupe) BMW make a great quality performance car that is track driver focused and is untouchable given perfect conditions as it slides across the track. The Audi is also a great quality performance car but rather than sliding like a BMW it provides better traction which arguably gives it an edge over BMW in less than perfect conditions as it has a differing philosophy. Both cars are built to a high standard. Objectively, which is a better road car and which is a better track car? I don't need to tell you which one is which as its a unanimous vote all over the net. It depends what a driver wants from the car. If we all liked the same car the world would be a boring place.

Didn't happen though, bit disappointment right there. They did well avoiding the subject of looks throughout the video as it isn't an objective indicator. But in the end they couldn't resist. I think the 'tie' was forced. I have the impression they both agree that this BMW drives better in every way, has less shift lag, has more space, is more luxurious and is more fuel efficient. They disagree on the steering though.
