Nothing major but allot to spend on maintenance (suspension, gaskets, other wear and tear components). Safe to have 6-10k to spend on it. Important to find a reliable workshop. @@akt8985

tuned my 323i engine/remap to 325i ... much more powerful and more enjoyable, unfortunately the 325i engine has 1 additional valve or some component which is missing in 323i's engine .. hence fuel consumption slightly higher but it's small matter compared to the excitement of driving this car daily to work. owned it since 2010 and has been my primary car til now. occasionally would drive wife's g20 but i prefer the 6pot of e90 323i.

Nice to see a video thats featuring this somewhat understated car. I own the 325i LCI for just over a year. Bought mine a bit expensive than the market back then due to previous owner just changed a lot of major maintenance parts and added in sprint booster. What makes me pulled the trigger was the smooth 6 cylinder. Of course not as instant as turbo but man, the long distance journey is a pleasure to drive! Also to me the car just looks muscular.. in away reminds me of the G20 which i do like. Maybe later can share a video on maintenance. Keep it up 👍

I have this opinion that E90 would be a realistic cash purchase entry into modern BMW. But like you said best to go for inline 6 cylinder because that's what BMW best known for. Either this or F30 (still loanable) because these two still has more classic BMW DNA than G series...

You are spot on. The F30 is not as engaging as the E90, but is still a great value buy. Decent units available in the 60-70k price range

Bought a 2011 325i which also has the edition sill plate. 4 yrs ownership, have replaced rear absorber, radiator, valve cover gasket, air-cond cooling coil and the falling roof lining. Engine oil service will be abit costly due to higher capacity engine oil of 6.5L. Definitely drive like a dream.

i own an e90 323i msport facelift sweetest bmw i have ever driven i have previously owned an e46 320i with m54 engine i plan to keep this car for a very long time .

This car has no active cruise control. Tech wasn't widely available during its time.

523i 2.5 is perhaps the least desirable variant of the F10. Advantage is that you can get them for cheap, and still a better option than an E90 320i

That's why tight and hard

Much as I used to like BMW cars, I have given up on them due to reliability issues. I had a 3 series which had automatic gear problems within the first month, refusing to start in Seremban and having it towed back to PJ centre to be repaired. Later, a BMW X5 SUV, which although was a dream to drive when it worked well, was so plagued with issues that we used to worry every morning what warning lights would show up when we started it. We later bought a Lexus RX Hybrid which never ever gave us any issues. Such a shame actually as I well remembered that up to the 1990s, Mercedes and BMW had a great reputation of being over-engineered and bullet-proof. However, when they started being run by bean counters instead of engineers, the rot set in. I remember the shock of seeing a Mercedes break down on the emergency lane on the North South Highway, some years after it first opened. That was probably the first time ever I saw a Mercedes break down.

Why 320 is not a good choice? It is due to power alone or reliability also an issue ? Can you also share common problem and maintenance cost

The 320i's reliability is reputed to be not as good as the six-cylinder models, but there are also plenty of owners who have used the car without issue. But the main argument is this... - 2011 320i .... RM26k - RM38k - 2011 323i .... RM28k - RM37k So, if the same amount of money buys you the six-cylinder model with vastly superior driving experience, why would you settle for the 156hp 320i?

The reliability with the N46 engine in the 320i is notorious. You get less power but more maintenance. This is the engine that makes your uncle and auntie telling you BMW is a problematic car

Best to avoid. Performance is lesser, and not as reliable as the 6-cylinder models.

​@@KonWaiLuenbut should be cheaper to maintain.lesser engine oil it requires, 4 spark plugs and lower road tax.

never buy the 2.5l N52B25 before 2009/2010. they all have problems with piston rings and drink up to 1l of oil every 1-2000km

my family has one (Grey) E92 323i - Coupe , we're thinking of selling it.

Nice car, but early versions in Malaysia were quite low spec. Ride quality quite poor on original M Sport suspension, but that can be remedied by good aftermarket solutions.
