I just found this and I am so thankful to David for his beautiful remark about doll people "having captured and maintained part of their childhood innocence". I also learned so much about Blythe and I just adore the Quale dolls, which I have never seen before. The last little onion doll is great. Travel doll? everyone should have one! The tiny Quale would be a good choice.

Hi David! So fun to see you talking Blythe outside of Blythe vs Blythe!! I was 10 when Blythe came out, I wanted one so badly. Sadly our small town toy store not only didn't carry Blythe they couldn't order her either. :( Oh well! Someday I will have a 1972 Blythe doll! Great video thank you David and Rachel. :)

Once again I am behind, but I really enjoyed the video and what was said at the end about collecting what you like. I have been getting all my dolls from Amazon and I get what I like. I have gOtten 3 nude 1/3 24" bjd dolls. I got them to learn how to make cloths and wigs. Also, I can not afford the expensive ones and these are all way under $100. Thank you.

I recently took a shine to Blythe dolls but cannot afford the real ones. So, I bought a couple factory dolls off of Etsy and one from ebay. They have long, luxurious soft hair, its really beautiful. They are fun to sew for and can also wear Barbie clothes should one be taking a bit to complete an outfit. I was excited to see you had this video about them.

I’ve been looking at making eye contacts that can be popped into doll eyes for Patty playpal‘s lately, and I kept coming across, “Blithe doll Eye chips“ and was wondering what they were and now I know! Pretty sure I have to head over to eBay now and buy myself a Blythe LOL

YEY! I love that you have a Blythe doll Rachel. I've watch you in Ruby lane channel multiple times. I'm fascinated by antique dolls but never really connect to them, but I get inspiration from them specially the period dresses and gowns that I incorporate to my Blythe dolls. One great instagram account that you should look is DollyTreasures. She is well known in the community and her artistry using the Blythe dolls are amazing. I had met Michael Canadas and David at Pasadena Doll show years back when I was there shopping for period doll clothes that fits my Blythes. Blythe dolls for me are very whimsical because of their big eyes, big faces and what artists can do when carving their faces to look more like real cute people. You are right about cult following coz Blythe doll has its own convention held around the world. I wish I have more money lol to really keep up with this hobby coz it always tends to be really expensive haha! Right now I have 7 mix. 2 sealed in box Takara, 1 carved OOAK Original and 2 other OOAK factory that were made by artists from Russia, 1 default factory and last 1 is my Basaak (Blythe wannabe) I used to customize myself. Even though they are all different in prices and whether it's original or not I love them all! My mom passed away from stomach cancer in 2016. I bought my first Takara Blythe Orange and Spice doll because it reminds me of her, the color of her hair and her fashion. That's when my love for Blythe doll started.

@@RachelHoffmanDolls vintage or non vintage. Went to the original website, watching videos (that’s where I found this one), checking out eBay and the new company website. I think by April I’ll be more informed. Love the eyes and the cute hair and clothes. I’ve never seen one in person though.

I personally like the fake custom Blythe dolls, as long as I know it’s fake and doesn’t have the marking on the back of the neck trying to pass as a stock doll. It’s amazing what artists can do with these dolls. Great video! 🙂
