Blur - Sing (Seymour version)
Музыка
If you want an MP3 of this track send me a message.
An early version of the Blur track 'Sing', back when they were known as Seymour.
This version was recorded in 1989.
BTW the screen probably shouldn't go black for the last part, like I can be arsed to do it again though, i'll just say it's for some sort of artistic effect.

the version on leisure sounds much more sad but this version sounds like a version you'd expect to hear near the end of a movie or something.

I agree. As blur they are just…so special. I wish they would continue with blur. There is an ageless muscial partnership inside the blur dynamics that just isnt there as individual artists. Albarn & Coxon are special together. Seriously special.
Alex James what a fabulous bass. All my favourite blur tracks have amazing basslines by Alex. Repetitive, sublime, catchy.
I still can't believe this was back in their Seymour days- so forward thinking it's unbelievable! An early glimpse of their greatness, I think.

Blur was actually doing a lot of interesting stuff before Leisure was being strung together. Their record label, or a specific manager/executive, pretty much forced them to repress their creativity a bit and be more like the Madchester bands. Uncle Love, Berserk, Shimmer, Mr Briggs, and Luminous are just a portion of the more interesting songs of the period that never made the album. Heck, even the awesome hidden tracks on Modern Life Is Rubbish were actually written and played before Leisure came out.

K-leb it’s a shame because, as much as there are some fantastic tracks of leisure (ie there’s no other way, sing and bang), there’s filler that could have been easily swapped with MLIR bsides - they’re far superior!
Although the other version definitely has more emotion and the bass is absolutely amazing, this version definitely has some really interesting elements. The 'off' notes in this version gives it a completely different dynamic. Fantastic!!

Yeah I love how dissonant the piano is in this version. Really adds a level of tension to the lyrics.

Alex James' s bass in the official blur recording is really incredible, but there is something very special about the Seymour version that I adore. All in all, its one of their best tracks.
as if sing wasn't raw enough.
a do prefer the bass and piano on this version but the hypnotic shogazey guitar and Damon's vocals on the leisure version tip the scales for me
this was literally foreshadowing greatness. look at damon now, gigs all over the world with whole arenas sold out
I love Sing as it is, but holy moly this demo is also fantastic. It's hard for me to choose at this point...I kinda want this to be the official version, but I also want the official version to be the official version. Either way, I think this demo arrangement would definitely be funner to play live.
My favorite Blur song! Such an avant-garde piece of music for the time. As Sing was left of the US version of Liesure many thought of this as a 'new' track when "Trainspotting" hit. It was so different, and in line with their, then, more experimental work. Amazing to find out that the song has even older origins! I love this demo....

Damon´s voice is amazing... never change.
Right from the start they made powerful songs, individually they are all talented musicians but together is where the best music's made
This is the first time ive heard this, and i like to pride myself on having heard pretty much everything blur have done. What an absolutely outstanding version, of an iconic and classic Blur track!!!!

There's something a little chaotic about this version which I really love :)
Very good version.
This one is more catchy and cool in it's own way, but the version on Leisure is supreme.
Very good it has a disconcerting feel to it
THIS VERSION ROCKS!!!
after so many years this is still so special.
This song is brilliant.
is youtube trying to kill me or smth i dont think i can handle this emotionally lmao
the track comes in "blur 21" box set plus more demos and rare versions of the rest of the tracks...you can download from torrent
This is actually really nice. Despite being a demo, I'd almost say this is better than the final version.
When I thought I heard all the versions of everything from the early Blur, now comes this! Nice & raw. Very Cool Indeed!

Sounds like a pub band during the Britpop era covering Blur. Thanks for uploading, but the album version is far superior and has a more haunting mood.

OOOOH!You're kidding me! This version was one of the first songs I heard by blur about...5-6 years ago.I hadn't heard it since then!
2022 and it still hurts.
bass on this version kicks ass
Holy cow this version is awesome.
Wow this version is amazing
the best version of sing
Very cool. I love the clunky piano.
wao i'm speechless that was chaotic and dissonant but i love it ;-)
Adore both versions, but today I choose this one... So raw!
I prefer this over what we got on Leisure.
damn, this version is sooooo damn good
This is Gold ❤
i love this version, i feel great to listen to this song when its raining day :-)
I really appreciate the clean upload. You are one of the only people doing this. I cannot find magpie early demo. I found everything else Blur ever did online over the last two days. If you got this song, it would be a great contribution to the collective wealth of mankind.
omg this is so good
Went to see them last night at Wolverhampton Civic Hall , they were fantastic, like watching them 10 years ago, they were laughing and having fun , Damon jumped into the crowd, amazing !
both versions are GREAT!
This was back when Robert Downy Jr. was in the band.

oh wow...that IS good. I was expecting the 'come in' to be so bass-y and awesome.
Fab upload, thanks :Dx
Got an iggy pop vibe to it. Very nice.
I've always liked this version better
i wish we had this version in hq
I love you blur
Ohhh I actually really like this version.
unbelievable amazing god bless seymour !!!
fantastic! fantastic!
I'm really glad they went with the version on Leisure.
this version is badass!
Seymour era Blur antes de llamarse Blur, así que yo diría que la versión , es el original... pero no lo sé a ciencia cierta... thanx for sharing it!!! I loved it!!
this is awesome :)
it's pretty cool this version
I prefer this version to the one that was released on 'leisure' Blur made some really good music
this is great. even in those days they were exceptional
Damon, Graham, Alex, Dave, Seymour and Blur are the best ♥♥♥♥♥

On one site I recently found that Damon and the band(known as Circus and later Seymour) recorded a lot of singles before they became "Blur".I hope they will release several albums of them.
or rather, I was NOT expecting that much awesomeness.
This is very nice, quite Dischordant, i like it alot.
I'm in love
Infused into my brain.
This demo is way better than the final version. Blur b-side are the best
The drums are much better in this version
I nearly love this song as much as the official version
The Blur version is much more glum, tormented ... I prefer it, this one lacks the eerie and sore atmosphere of the new one ...

I think this version of Sing would have sold more. Both are good, though.
wow in 1989! hear the b sides and the demos of blur make me love more this band.
It would be nice if they did this version on their new tour
So sick
i feel like that
Yep, this version is god. It's transcendent, other-worldly, so beautiful.
Wow, great demo version. Already very good before becoming the mastered version on "Leisure".
More vocals too. huh, cool. COOL!
Is this really them from back in the day? Wow...crazy!
Oh My God, I really love the original version of this song i listen to it atleast once a month lol, thank you so much for posting this on KZread, this version is very cool, can i have an mp3 of this song please please?
Anyone have tabs for this? I'd love to learn to play this version! :3
Never really liked Sing ever since first hearing the album Leisure, but this is awesome, takes a pretty awesome band to have b-sides and even early demos this good. Long live blur
I agree, more Seymour please.
Is this the version from the first Seymour gigs/pre-Balfe- or even Stephen Street? Do write me- this is such an amazing gift to all fans- and also amazing, sonically............... damn. Thank you, again........................
very good! I like this than blur version.
nice version. sounds a bit like the great escape-era blur.
Wow!-CD wth that single is 70something$ and up!!!!!!
Stop thinking like this and become wiser(a Radiohead's fan).
Alailable as a single on a CD on Amazon-expencive as a yacht!
Same with Electric Light Orchestra-THE overture was first recorded when Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood were in The Move.
anyone knows where to find this online in high quality for download?

i can't belive i didn't know this before, it's so freaking amazing! much better than the one on the 'leisure' album, so raw and powerful - reminds me some tracks from 'blur'/'13' era. i wish there was an instrumental version...
I searched a lot and could not find mp3 of this song. The only way is to rip mp3 out of this video...Both versions are great. I heard this after the Leisure version...I think this one is a little bit better :)
Wow
I like the Blur version better, but I can hear the lyrics better in this one
i want this track
