I think Mia is a great backround character as I think it adds a bit more diversion with teens and going to year 7 and how they can be very nervous and not show it as much as well as it shows what it is like going through puberty and i love the little relationship that the animators are trying to show and how relationships can start by just being freinds so I love that they decided to make a story line for those charcters even if they are backround people's.

What body language is that?

i loved mia’s design and character. everytime i see the episode “barky boats” it makes me think of my younger step-sister. their relationship is almost exactly like ours. (except for mia being able to do a cartwheel, i definitely can’t😭😭)

It’s so wholesome how Mia plays with Bluey. She acts like a big sister or even a Mum. It’s really sweet

"Barky Boats" is one of the only Bluey episodes I can relate to. NO SERIOUSLY!! HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR!!! And it's one of the only ones that has got me very close to crying

Being 12 is hard, and high school next year isn't helping at all

Both mia and captain are great representation to even middle school kids that fee this way about new schools and change, heck even adults. I love how much this show conveys different struggles for all people while still making it entertaining for all audiences.

being a 12 yearold pubescent boy myself with highschool right around the corner, watching bluey with my 3 nephews and finding such a relatable episode being barky boats that made me almost cry is something I never expected from this show, I continue to love and be amazed at bluey.

I love Mia's design and character overall so much. I relate to her, even tho I'm older. I'm also scared of the future and it's a little stressful. That episode def made me cry 😭

Mia is my favorite character by far! I think she’s a perfect character for the show because she’s good for anyone her age thats watching Bluey. They can relate to her so well with the whole “being worried about going to big school” situation!

I think one thing good about characters like Mia and Captain is that they show off the Tween prospective of which is pretty rare on the show. It also shows a bit of what it could be like for characters like Bluey or Mackenzie when they grow up.

WE NEED A MINISODE WITH JUST CAPTAIN AND MIA WITH EACH OTHER!!!

Mia, being one of my favorite characters, this was also one of my favorite episodes. My favorite line in it was “It can be hard being twelve years old sometimes” and the “And make sure she doesn’t forget to come and play with me” since I was twelve last year and it was VERY hard for me. One of my best friends is older than me by a year and graduating middle school this year and going to highschool while Im stuck behind and will be in eighth grade and won’t graduate until next year.

It result got to me how different the 12yolds’ life and perspective is from Bluey’s, and how there’s so much more growing up to do. A kid’s world is so big!

I'm 12 too! Im going to high school next year here in Australia so when Mia said she was 12 I was so happy!! But then I realised she's almost the same height as an adult in bluey.... So at first I thought she was an adult. Here at my school, we also have buddies like that! We go over to the prep classes and read with them and play games!! It's so fun and they are ACTUALLY SO CUTE!!!!!!

I wonder if Mia was not only nervous about starting high school but also sad and/or angry, and that's where she got the technique for getting rid of sadness/anger (because one of her parents, or a different relative, or a teacher, gave her that advice) and then she passed it onto Bluey.

I hope they'll make a spin off series about bluey's life as an adult or teen. It'd be nice to see how she copes with problems and emotions during those times.

When Bluey asks Mia if she’s worried about starting high school, before and after answering you can see Mia’s smile falter. When Bluey and Mia go in for a hug, Mackenzie and Captain do a special handshake instead. Mia and Captain clearly have a crush on each other but maybe don’t know how to go about those feelings yet, so they come up with every excuse to interact. It really feels like these characters existed in the world and continue to exist afterwards. Even though Mia hasn’t gotten a speaking role since Barky Boats, seeing Bluey’s drawing of her on the fridge and hearing about some advice she gave Bluey in Stickbird helps remind the audience she’s still a part of Bluey’s life

I like to think that Mackenzie is the father of Bluey's child and that Captain and Mia are the godparents

I watched barky boats time I was getting ready for collage and my sister was getting ready for high school We were very emotional 😅

I watched the episode yesterday before the day of my college graduation this morning.. This is the perfect episode to watch when moving on to the next stage of life. I’m hoping post grad life will treat me well.

I had no clue that the parody movie posters were done by an animator on the team! A breakdown on those sometime would be neat!

My papa had a bird dog who was an English Setter. His name was Duke and he was a good boy. When I was a baby my papa always knew he could have Duke around me because he was so gentle and friendly. I was there on his last day. He was the first of my papa's dogs to go after my papa did. And I told my nana about cremation and that's what she chose to do with Duke. He stayed there in the house with her until she passed away

I'd love to see a deep dive on Dougie (the Deaf kid in Turtleboy), though I'm not sure what's left to cover since he's only in one episode. I'm hard of hearing, so it just made me so happy to see a Deaf character on Bluey, and the amount of care Ludo put into portraying him and his mom! Not all hearing parents are willing to learn a signed language for a Deaf/HoH child, so it was so awesome to see his mom using AusLan with him!!

Being scared of change and growing up is a common fear. I find being nervous for the future relatable. Mia is a kind-hearted anthromorphic dog who is introduced as Bluey's buddy. Mia is patient, graceful, and calm. Bluey doesn't understand the concept of puberty and the things that come with it. Mia tries to make Bluey think it's no big deal. I have a feeling that Mia has a bit of anxiety or depression. Girls in puberty tend to have mood swings, depression, anxiety etc. I also feel that.. Uh.. Captain x mia are dating..

When this ep came out, I was 11, about to go into high school. This is still one of my most fav eps because of how relatable it was to my life

I LOVE MIA SO MUCH SHE IS MY 2nd FAVORITE CHARACTER AND SHE IS LITERALLY MEEEE!!!!! The reason I love her is that because her design and I always act like her and I also have the same way as her because I’m kinda nervous about starting 7th grade and really have the same feelings as her and my crush “James” he really also acts like Captain so me and him have the same feelings as our characters lol! And the thing is we also are by each other all the time at school! Have an amazing day or night!!!

Mya and Captain are a canonical couple, which is confirmed, I admit that I hadn't noticed them in other episodes as background characters where they always appeared together because my attention was always focused on the main characters in each episode.

I wish we had more with Mia and other tweens/teens in the bluey universe.

I can't even imagine going into high school at only 12 years old. I was already so unstable then and an even better change would've made things even worse considering high school is always portrayed in kids media as kids going into adulthood. Good luck to all the kids going through that right now.

i like Mia, she's almost like a big sister for bluey. hopefully, if Disney does have episodes for this show, outside of the premium pay wall that is streaming services and their monthly after hour payment plan billing system, here in america, even with a virtual " private " network, that is, we here in this country can see more content with characters like Mia and captain.

Her breed of dog was perfect for her, from the colouring to the tufts of hair, it just fit her perfectly
