@@magmil me too. Like Nina Simone, but on a piano. I am trying to learn Flamenco which straddles classical, blues and other genres, having fallen in love with the Spanish guitar (aka classical and flamenca) after years hearing people comment on my weird bass technique, I picked one up one day and that was when I realised that I had been holding the wrong instrument and 2 strings short of what my fingers were attempting ….

You know you're hearing guitar at its best when you can't believe that much music is pouring out of only one instrument. Bravo!

What a wonderful set of memories you must have! Fortunate not only to have heard that wonderful man play live in an intimate setting with people you loved, but also in that you were able to spend time with your grandparents. I agree with Pablo Novoselov .There's always hope and that beautiful young lady has shown us that with her technically brilliant playing .but Interesting to see jazz played on a classical guitar. As a rule jazz guitarists seem to favour the mellow electric tone of a sunburst Gibson cutaway type instrument played with a pick or fingerstyle. Being nylon strung the Spanish guitar is normally played fingerstyle but I don't use mine for jazz the tone is a little 'brittle and the action requires more pressure from the left hand than you would probably use on an electric instrument. That young lady must have a very strong left hand to compliment her amazing technique . My guitar is going on the fire tomorrow!!

This magnificent player only furthers my beliefs that classical music and jazz are the opposites on each end of the spectrum that cross a fine line into each other trying music together in a loop....where genius and insanity tie things together with a unbreakable bond...she proves how easily they flow together both ways
