The basic most common pattern I thought was: For example in E - E 4 bars, A 2 bars, E 2 bars, B or B7 2 bars, E 1 bar, B7 Turnaround. Chuck Berry kept it this simple in Johnny B Goode.

Yep, that's right, though I've also played Blues without the B7 Turnaround.
