I'm a guitar player. 40 years. Chicago boy. Self taught. My guitar is currently vacationing at the local pawn shop spa. I have a keyboard in my apartment. I gotta jam on something. I can play me some Blues on guitar. Trust me. I learned a ton about the Blues from this tutorial. We guitar players eventually, through much practice, suss out the relationship between major and minor scales over the Blues. Those of us who strive to, that is. But the theory is often a mystery to us. Theory being a mystery to solve can lead to great discovery. That's why guitarists often have such unique styles. We're ignorant of music theory. Keyboard players generally take lessons early on. This tutorial makes sense to me. In fact, I rather easily jammed along on keyboard over it. Fun. Thanks!

I played guitar my whole life. A ton of blues. Used to just sit in my room jamming along to Albert King or Alvin Lee or whoever when I was a kid. But my main passion is songwriting. I spent maybe 15 years writing on guitar. Then one day I just decided to learn piano. Bought a nice electric keyboard and just started learning songs. One of the best choices I ever made. Piano made theory a lot easier to understand for me which, in turn, made my writing that much better.

Really an Informative video Kevin; extremely useful for someone like me who has been woefully out of touch for the past one year or so. You have provided me with the right kind of motivation to resume practice lol… Till now I had been under the false impression that the route of the major blues actually was that of the minor and vice versa. This video was a corrective one for me. Thank you so much. Cheers…!!!! 7:17
