For those of you who are patiently waiting for the next bluebird nest box live stream, I am still waiting for nest building to begin . The adults are still around, feeding the juveniles from the previous brood, who are safely hidden in the back woods. I've noticed that the place where the adults fly when they take food from the birdfeeders changes over time, indicating that the juveniles have moved from the big maple tree in the side yard to the woods behind the big pine tree, to the other side of the back woods.
There seems to be some renewed interest in the nest box. The male has come daily to check it out, and on 6/5 he coaxed the female into the box and fed her there. She didn't eat it herself, though, she took it out and carried it back into the woods to feed the juveniles! I'm hoping to get a glimpse of the juveniles at the bird feeder soon!
