What if you bought a bundle of 1/2 inch conduit cut them in half also some conduit colpers screwed them together. Put the new pip in the ground to the height needed then couple together.

Yes James I think that that would work. I think you would also have to make certain that the end of the conduit that you're pounding into the ground isn't damaged so that the coupler would adequately hold the union together. Great idea!
I don't see the link for the bending of the electrical conduit into hoops. Sorry if I am being clueless.
