Thank you so very much. I went through what you went through earlier and wasted about 40 minutes going back and forth with the settings. LIke you said it just took only 30 seconds to fix this problem. Also realized that it has to be green lights for it to show it is working, and white light means it is muted.

do you know how to do this with a normal blue yeti mic (not the x version)

Is there a similar fix for older Yeti Blue mics? My Yeti only is recognized on my mac if I shut down, and restart with it plugged in. As soon as my mac goes to sleep, the mic disappears again.

thank you so much, mine was plugged in and recognized and i could hear myself when i plugged into the aux but it wasnt lighting up as if i was muted or something and everywhere i looked i found the same "unplug, replug, restart computer, reinstall drivers"

This video saved my day! I have a different model with just one button for mute but holding it down as recommended worked perfectly.

Aw man, i thought this would work, but after the fast flashing, the green lights come on for a split second and then i'm back to only the blue light and it still picks up no sound. Am i looking at a hardware problem?

Great video! With me this didn't work but I found another quick fix that did work, at least for me, and that was simply plugging in the mic with a different usb cable instead of the one that came with it in the box (I'm using my phone charger cable lol) and apparently that was the culprit: the cable.

HELP, my blue yeti nano volume gain show orange light and i tried to reset like in this video but still not working.... at first it showed red and back to orange light again (before that i tried to update software called blue sherpa and it says to update the firmware, i update it and stuck at 0 percent... pls help

I am able to factor reset it, and it shows the audio like its being recorded again, but only for like a second, then it goes back to being "muted" any ideas?

That was indeed helpful. Not even on the Yeti site could I find this simple solution. Such a waste. But thank you.

Damn, this is ridiculous. How can something be so hard when it's in fact so simple... Nothing on Logitech's website either. They have a whole troubleshooting process in their FAQs that actually does nothing... THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Took 10 seconds to "repair" after watching your video... Do you know how to fix the blue yeti

Unfortuntelly, this didn't work for me. Though my issue is different. The system recognizes the mic. System sounds even come through the hedphone jack. The lights on the mic light up and I can hear myself if I plug in the headphones to the mic. But the system never hears my input. I tried resetting everything, Uninstallnig drivers, removing the Yeti from my devices plugging it out and in AND now even tried this reset. Nothing works. I tried the mic on another PC and there it works without an issue

This man right here gets it!

This worked, thank you. Now if the stupid power cord wouldn't keep moving and shutting the microphone off... Got a fix for THAT, KZread??!

I just ordered one off eBay for cheap with this described problem. I bet it works fine after this. EDIT: Oh yeah, your fix was it! Before that all the controls worked, it showed up as an input device on the PC, I could adjust gain etc. but no sound came through on the PC side, just a zero VU meter in sound input. Did the factor reset and bam, mic works. You saved me $50!

Damn, I have used 3rd party (Focusite) software to change buffer size accordingly. 512 for voiceovers and recordings and 256 streaming and live chats. Usually, this takes out the clicks

@@SillyLlamaz I don't think a buffer would be an issue for recording with something like Audacity, where it doesn't have to keep up with anything. This isn't an issue of the PC not keeping up, it's the USB channel itself having transmission errors.

My metering LED's light back up for just a second after the reset and it goes right back to only lighting up the microphone light

How can it be that its so hard to find a solution for this. My symptoms looked a little different, but the solution still worked. Before your videos was released the problem already occured and i wanted to get the mic a new usb port. What i today did, but didnt fixed the problem. Lucky me that im freaking lazy, because else the mic would have been landed in the trash already months ago ;D

this KINDA worked for me. my audio used to cut out around 40 seconds after plugging in the microphone, and i would stop hearing myself from my microphone and i would stop hearing the audio i play on my laptop. after doing this method, i can hear myself through the microphone now, BUT the audio i play on my laptop still continues to cut out. do you think you can help me with this?
