What I love about this comfortable looking setup is that even though she has a lot of gear she is incredibly organized. I also like that she upgrades on the fly with her own tools and know-how.

Love this! I am still trying to get my husband on board so I am in the planning stages. I want to be able to go alone, go with one of the grand children and also go have him go at times, so this is perfect. Now to get him to watch along. Thank you!

Crystal Vanner added a swivel base for the passenger seat a few years back. Amazon carried the slender water container, 2gallons, at one time. I purchased two a year or two ago.

Wow this is one of my favorite videos. She’s the MacGyver of nomad transport lol. I hope when I finally get to journey my path crosses hers. I think she is a soul sister and someone I’d love to have in my Tribe lol. I’m not doing nomad yet because I’m homeschooling my daughter that has a learning disability but highly functional and will be fine once school is done. We talk about doing school on the road and she only has two more years left. We are eclectic schoolers. She wants to be a gypsy also and seriously considering this. Thanks for a great video.

Love Love love this setup! I'm working on getting a minivan soon. You definitely gave me some great ideas. She is just so creative and I can see the happiness in her face. I was blessed to win the jackery 500 with solar panels. It was a constant on vancity vanlife to have 2 people win a 250 and a 500. I was so excited that cried(multiple times). Besides the minivan I want to get, the jackery was going to be a big expense. I've been watching for a year and I'm so ready to do this. I love the community and I feel like I already have friends out there that I just haven't met face to face. I'm looking forward to meeting all the wonderful people. Also go to some beautiful places. Wow, wonderful video featuring two wonderful souls !! I am very glad I found this channel because I find myself in a similar situation. I am very happily married to a great spouse, that does not want to travel in the least !! We are retired now, and I always thought at some point we would escape Canada's harsh winters ( Saskatchewan ) and be snowbirds. Nope Now that I am 60, I have hinted that I might try the van life for a few months at a time, but so far, we are not on the same page. I was thinking a van, because I do not want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on just my dream Travel Grandma once said " if not now, when?? " I agree !! Wishing you ladies all the peace. joy, and happiness you both deserve !!

A very good friend of mine once told me, "Do things with love or not at all.". I try to live by those wise words. Deep down I think we all know what we want and don't want. Some things agree with us more than other things. Some things we don't mind making compromises for and others there's no way. Finding balance by way of truly understanding where each other is coming from usually works out pretty well. Keep talking to your wife about your dreams. Don't try to change her mind. Listen. Understand Be true to her and to yourself Then do things with love or not at all.

I have been trying to change her mind, or convince her, but really I have to admit that I am not sure I would be totally supportive if she was the one with wanderlust and leaving me behind Thank you, thank you, thank you ... Somehow I feel so much better and whether it works out or not - Do things with Love, or not at all.... Brilliant !!!

I wish you had asked more about how a bag of water helps the temperature in her cooler. Missed opportunity to help people who can't afford solar!!

I'm seriously thinking about doing this, just is gonna take a lot for me to start, a lot of money and I'm waiting to see if I get any from a recent accident. I'm not even working right now so I'm starting from scratch. I've been watching youtubers for a couple of years now and honestly, I REALLY want to do this. I just worry about the gas prices, inflation and having an income. I'm a type 1 diabetic also but I don't want to let that get in the way, but I have to make sure I can have my supplies and food, water...especially with diabetes. I would say I worry about my safety, but I would never stay in an unsafe place and with camping I think I would always try to stay somewhere near other campers, for the most part everyone I think, is pretty safe people...no one is looking to steal or harm others, at least from what I've been watching. I honestly think staying in the cities is more unsafe but even that has safe spots...not gonna plan on staying in the ghettos or anything. I think, for me, I would need to go into a city once a week, maybe stay one night in a hotel, if I can afford it. I think I would need a break once or twice in a 2wk time period. And, of course, I would get a gym membership to something that's in most cities. I'm a bigger girl though and I hope this lifestyle will REALLY help in me losing the weight...going to the bathroom in a small van would DEFINITELY be an issue. I'm not sure what I'm going to buy yet, it all depends on what happens in the next year...I plan on being at the next RTR in Quartzsite, I live in Phoenix, and I have visited Quartzsite on a short trip in December to check it out. My biggest worry is about my vehicle breaking down and things breaking. I have arthritic hands that are not very strong so unless someone is around, THAT is my biggest fear.

@@lauraslanesvanlifetravels fear can be paralysing. I think the best thing to do is learn how to be very minimalistic. If had prices are high for a time, which they are right now, even though I am on another trip right now I am taking it slower. Staying in one place longer. Eating healthy but cheaper meals that I cook myself. Being very mindful of where I'm spending money and cut down wherever I can.
