Interesting - I’ve come to realise that each willow plate is different and enjoy spotting the differences, especially in different potteries. Glad someone else appreciates it too.

It makes the pattern more interesting than it would be if they were all identical.
Thank You for sharing your “blue willow” collection. I too enjoy the different shades of blues and individual characteristics. I’m starting mine soon. Thank You
I inherited some of my Blue Willow from my great Grandma and they came across the prairie from Illinois, the plates were smaller, and I have hung these plates on the wall in plate racks, I have some Johnson Bros Blue Willow, and I bought an expensive set that doesn't have all the graphics, but I love them all.
Just received my 4 Churchill Blue Willow mugs from Amazon, and I was surprised to see "Queen's Blue Willow" on the bottom. My set is from the late 1980s, and wanted mugs to match my coffee pot. I was mystified why they called them "Churchill" with a Queen's mark. Your video cleared up this mystery for me, yes they are a bit lighter but I am quite happy with them. I have some vintage pieces as well. A true classic that never goes out of style!

Very informative video! I love collecting Blue Willow Dinnerware!
This was extremely helpful, thank you!
Just love Blue Willow! Also have two complete children's tea sets from Japan - just adore them :)
Thank you! I noticed colour difference and preferred darker colour and was thinking the faded ones are fake.

I am with you, I like the darker ones better. However, when I first started collecting these in high school as an every day set for my parents and later myself my mother liked the light ones the best. They are all really real though. When I made a trip to England I got 4 dessert Blue Willow made by English Ironstone. They had a different border than the traditional Blue Willow that really stood out to me. Three of them were dark and one was light but they were obviously from the same batch as they were together and stacked perfectly.
I have a 12 piece set of Arita Japanese Fukagawa Pagoda pattern 903. They are hand painted from the 1950's.They were my mother's. I purchased a Blue Willow set of everyday China when I was younger. I loved the story and I still use them everyday. Do you know of any stories behind the Pagoda china I have. I also heard George Washington used the Blue Willow pattern. I am going to put the padding between my china as you suggested in another video. Thank you for the information.
Hi there! Can you tell me anything about Seizan china made in Japan? My holiday china is their Noel pattern and I can't find any information except that it was available in Japan during the 1980s. Thanks!
I have what I think is a very old very large Willow footed platter . Scalloped edge with gold gilding. The mark on the back looks like wings on a staff like a caduceus. The color is a lighter blue. Where can I find the maker or worth? Thank you
Good video,
Is ChurchIll blue willow safe to eat off of? I've recently heard it can contain lead in the glaze. We got ours as a wedding present 21 yrs. ago and use it on holidays and special occasions.

can you please also tell us the difference between real blue willows from the reproductions or 'repro' that they call? thanks!

I am looking on any info on a set I picked up Queens adapted from original copper engravings this set has a little boy fishing with trees and a boat with someone fishing the outside has flowers. I can't seem to find what patter it is or info about it.

I am not familiar with that one at all. Usually I can find things like that but I can't find anything on your pattern.
I have one i need bye it
Can anyone also give me some tips on how to wash them? Thanks! They are gold decorated and rimmed

From what I read, those cost more. The gold rimmed Blue Willow were commissioned by William Randolph Hearst to not be confused with those owned by the 'common' people.
Does Blue Willow have any value if it was made in Japan and/or if it is chipped or crazed?

Yes, most pieces like this do not have a ton of value but have seen many for sale in the condition you describe. Although I prefer the English ones many do like the ones made in Japan. Some people like displaying plates when they look old and crazed. Chipped pieces would not be worth as much unless they are rare. It doesn't surprise me that just about all of my most popular videos are covering Blue Willow.
Why has Blue Willow dropped in price?

Sure but this is too new to fetch higher prices than the store but it is still of good value. Older Blue Willow should fetch even better prices.
