There are a dozen breeds of lizards in my backyard. The Blue Tailed Skink is one of the common varieties. there is also a red-headed Skink, but it turns out to be the same species. The tail turns brown, and the head turns red, when a blue Tailed Skink turns four years old.
Go figure.
