BLUE LINGCOD on a BOBBER wrapped in a BANANA LEAF!
Ойын-сауық
I think I've got this bobber rig dialed in! Adding that 3/4oz bullet weight on the bottom combined with a very slow retrieve has been giving me lots of success. We're starting to run low on the bobbers - probably will be restocking in a month or so.

Havent watched you in like 3 years good to see youre still doing this stuff
bro, here's a tip to make those banana leaves much more pliable so it doesn't tear easily... don't wet them fresh leaves. while fresh, put it on to top of a flame or those embers you got there bottom side up (that's the one with the sort of silvery color and powdery texture). you'll notice it'll change color to a much more vibrant green. just slowly run the whole length of the leaf on top of the embers until you get that change in color and you're good to go. here in the Philippines, we call that process "Laib". Not sure if Jun is familiar with the technique but we do that here. Keep the vids coming and always stay safe. ✌️
Good to hear you bought the cliff gaff from Australia, Matt! We use it a lot here in Australia and it is 100% a life saver! Keen to watch you use it to safely land your catches!

I only hope it can slip over the bobber 🤞
Thanks for the wishes Matts, same to you bro! Hope your newborn and baby momma are doing great after the birth. Stay awesome and God bless ❤️
Eating broken rice with chopsticks. Thats a Pro.. i love this channel. That finger measuring rice cooking tactics on point. We grew up on that.
Man, the content on Fisherman's Life is never boring . Blue Ling on the menu, what's not to like? Would like to see some spikes worn while fishing the rocks alone. Keep up the great work and be safe!!
Many thanks for generously sharing your knowledge and experience. The video details of your various tackle applications are excellent and have help me catch fish. Please keep the Tackle Tutorials coming!
Love seeing all the different fish you catch in the salt. Gonna have to head to the coast more. Looks like so much fun. Cheers
I like all the bobber videos! I bought one last year and haven't used it yet. I honestly didn't know how to set it up to fish from the rocks, but now I do! And thanks for sharing your banana leaf lingcod wrapped recipe!

@Fisherman's Life Matts, it was great meeting you briefly this weekend! Right after we saw you I shot a massive ling at that spot, so thank you for the luck ☺️

Always a good time on your vids Matt's. I use that bobber technique for panfish in freshwater. Never tried in the salt. Nice.
Love the old school rods. I got a few from the 70’s. They don’t break even if I tried too
Matts done did it again!
What an amazing and gorgeous fish!
With all the craziness in this world, I can always depend on Fisherman’s Life!
Just bought a cable baiter from you. Can’t wait to try them out. I go to eureka and Arcata once a year and will slay if I bust these out. Take care
God bless! Hope you continue to prosper! Your videos are fun to watch!
Awesome - love the meal prep!
Loved this, thanks for the video
Gorgeous fish!
i love your moves ! Thanks for being a solid human!
That looks really good!
Nice video.. I fish for Chum floating Anchovies with a slider rig and for Salmon and Steelhead with eggs under a float with sliding rig. Also bobber dog using floats. Crappie with jigs under a float as well. Looks delicious .
Use to cook the same way as a kid growing up in Samoa and Hawaii. Those banana leaves keep it so moist. Looked good.
This is the only channel I've ever seen fish with blue meat on
Hi Mats, I don’t know you, know you, but what you do, and your perseverance, is awesome 🤩 Cheers 🥂
That looked like an awesome meal! Keep the videos coming!
That recipe looks so good!
I lob slip bobbers pretty far out fresh water fishing and a pair of polarized glasses make a world of difference trying to see them. Great channel dude been subbed for years
The food looks fire! Love all your videos
Just too damn inspiring!! Blessed for sure! Tight Lines!
Thanks for sharing, so awesome
Awesome catch and meal dude. Makes me miss living near the ocean.
Awesome vid as always....chill and cool!
Matt fabulous video! if you slightly cook the banana leaves they will become soft and not break or crack when folded. Your steam seals will be much more complete.
My best lings have always been from the shore, on the rocks, using big swim baits. I've pulled big ones out of blow holes , and cliffs, mostly on the mendo coast.
Thanks buddy for sharing your awesome video be careful
Love from San Diego my friend, thank you for sharing!!!

Well done matt love the vids. I love how some of your fish has blue meat
It looks so much fun! Delicious food. I really like your way of hooking up the real bait onto the hook. I am going to give it a try here in SoCAL (San Diego)
Awesome video. Snap mounts for GoPro allows you to mount the camera on your shirt. Comes with 2 parts. One goes inside the shirt and the other outside. Not sure which has the magnet but they basically snap together. Haven't tried myself but heard good things about them. Anyway it'll save you from cutting up your hoodie. 😄 Tight lines!
thats a good looking fish!

I've been rock fishing for 3 years now and have not caught a keeper Lingcod from shore. Perhaps the bobber is the answer.....!
That looked delicious! What an outdoor treat! If you like to snack on popcorn try sprinkling the furikake on it, it’s great👍🏼
Came across ur fishing channel a couple years ago been watching ever since keep up the great content!

My parents and i love your content man.
1:13 new merch idea? I've never seen it done before, you'd definitely be one of the first and could be a trend setter
Keep up the great work bro
you make it look so easy! damn
Another great vid...thanks. Saltwater on earth is the life-giving force of nature. Generally speaking, salt water not allowing bacteria, parasites and mosquitos to live in abundance like in so many other parts of the world. Also, nothing like hot rice and Furikake seasoning.
That type of preparing and cooking of food is famous here in the Philippines. It is famously called here as, “binalot sa dahon ng saging” or wrapped in banana leaves. Here, it is best with the combination of rice and chicken adobo, with hard boiled egg and raw tomato. But nice dish though. I’m a huge fan of your content, catch and cook! God bless brother! 😊
That looked delicious.
Watching your videos while I’m enjoying dinner
Dam...that looks so good!
Nice Work 🤙
Super Dope Episode Matts 👊🏼😎🤙🏼!! Beautiful ling and awesome catch and cook brother!! Damm thats a 🔥🔥🔥 looking meal, 🫵🏻your the Man
Excellent fishing videos keep em coming
Bro I haven’t watched your vids in three to four years and I’m glad you got 1 mil subs bro! You deserve it! I got a lot of vids to catch up.
i love your videos keep up the good work
Can never go wrong with adding avocado on there! That banana leaf reminds of the Chinese sticky rice! 😂
All the gangsters in my city eat blue lingcod for breakfast and they love it.
Watching from the Philippines, man. love your show. Btw, maybe you should try this. I'm not sure if its gonna go well with Lincod thO. salt, soysauce, vinegar, garlic, onion, leaks, and ginger. Pack it in banana leaves and wrap the leaves in aluminum foil. For a 3/4 kg milkfish it's 15mins per side. You can just adjust based on the size of your fish.
Matt please try putting inside the belly, cilantro, tomato, jalapeños onion and garlic and cook it on the banana leaf is so delicious that way.
This is what you need. For your GoPro.Snap Mount - GoPro Magnetic I have one time I love it. You don't have to cut holes in your shirt. it is very strong.
