from what I know, it might be about growing up and forgetting its childhood self, "cutting her hair" after crying means she needs to change to look more mature, that's why the "things are just different, ever since she cut her blue hair off" meaning she gave up on her inner child and rebuilt her life. ofc we don't have the same pov, and ur theory is great aswell

This helps me escape through my thoughts at night it is so calming to sleep to. When first hearing the lyrics and paying attention, I first thought this song was about a child, growing up and maturing, basically growing out of her childhood,, and that this could be a parent, maybe guardian singing about it and experiencing who was once their little girl, beginning to grow up and mature.
