    I agree, except I don't know if I want the whole world to take notice, because I like them just the way they are. I don't know if Fame would make them change! That's why everybody should become a patron and help them out through patreon. Then they wouldn't have to chase Fame and instead be themselves.😄

    Great cover of one of the iconic songs in country music history. Roy Acuff and Fred Rose are smilin' down, but Willie's cover is still the best. On the other hand, everyone check out Carson's cover of "Good time Charlie, sings the blues". It is an amazing cover and I think better than any cover out there.

    Willie is not going to be around forever. Almost 20 years ago I told my wife "We should go see Willie live. He is not going to be around forever". Now here I am saying the same thing, well over a decade later. But if you are going to do the singing, maybe I won't miss him as much.

    Mr. McKee, I discovered you a few years back through a YT thread that lead me to the group that you seem to play with frequently. I think that I arrived to your group because I like music that is a bit more classic country, bluesy and rockabilly. Let me say that I really enjoy the fact that, for the most part, you sing in such a way that I can understand every word that you sing. That may sound trivial but it's something that I appreciate. I also find it interesting that your voice in the group (I'm not sure that it has a name) you are the baritone or bass but, when your singing in your own videos, your somewhere between a tenor and a baritone. Just my thoughts. Thanks for your music. I appreciate it, the entertainment that you offer to to the world and I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors.

The world is plenty past ready to hear honest vocal melodies... Most ppl don’t Appreciate just how difficult it is to sing On key without using. Vibrato and word slurs t compensate For the lack of vocal ability and training..... And as fake as the world is today God the last thing I want to listen to is dishonest music just give it to me and give it to me straight.... Keep on singing and doing just what you’re doing here if you’re reading I promise you I’m not the only one who feels this way

    I like it . 1980 if I remember correctly. Big hit for Willie. I was twelve years old and playing trombone in school. Later when I picked up the fiddle I could tell that learning to play notes with the slide of the brass instrument, ( by ear and muscle memory). that it helped on the fret less fingerboard of the violin 🎻 . Made my day to catch your video. Big thanks to you. 😎

    I have very fond memories of meeting Willie Nelson backstage, and watching him perform this song while wearing my hat. ( a silly tophat that I wore to my high-school prom, but it had a red bandana around it that said Willie Nelson on it ). I have listened to this song hundreds of times and tried to sing it myself in the shower or while driving down the road. So I think I can vouch for your performance here as somewhere far beyond outstanding, far beyond divine. More like that dude that walked on water.

  • @michaelohanlon9623
    @michaelohanlon9623 Жыл бұрын

    A faultless performance, with less being a lot more. You sure know how to use your voice, which you can bend into blues notes at all the right junctures. The lyrics only seem plain; the emotions are complex. So it takes a special singer to understand how they relate to one another. As for that fantastic solo, didn't see that coming! That enhances the whole song, plus you make the guitar chords take the scenic route back into the story. Super interpreting by a global-class artist...moh

  • @beverlywhite8433
    @beverlywhite84334 жыл бұрын

    Willie Nelson has an easy voice that effortlessly rolls over the melody as he tells his story. Carson has that same type of voice ( and whether or not Carson had to work like hell to develop it is irrelevant) when he sings to us. It feels like he is just telling us a story but the sound of that voice just carries us to a sweet place. As singers go this is a rare, very rare in fact, quality and we are blessed to be able to just listen. This part us for Carson: If you are just blessed with your singing ability I rejoice in your good fortune and willingness to share it with us. If you worked really hard to be able to sound so effortless... thank you.

    Very interesting words, most people never get to think about. When i started playin guitar i thought all the very good players (the superstars and players i knew personally) are just blessed with talent. Then i found out most of these guys are working very hard, but will never tell. It´s just cooler to be gifted. (even in Germany, the place being a hard working person is even more appreciated than beeing a kind and friendly one) For the listener it is not important, maybe better not to know how much hard work was possibly done to be so good.

    Thanks so much!! I did release this performance as a "b-side" with a remixed/mastered version of "Roses & Gloom" on Spotify, iTunes, etc. on Feb 1st...I'd love to get a full band involved at some point, though.

    Howard Rome Hah! Thanks man. While the comma may not be necessary, it also isn’t incorrect-it’s just a matter of preference. It’s a vocative comma.

    I just listened to this 5 times in a row. I agree with everyone on the smoothness of your voice, but your vibrato is really something. Effortless and perfect. (I personally cannot stand an overdone vibrato). I got the Live from London album a couple weeks ago and it has been playing on a loop in my car for 2 solid weeks. My kids love your music too, and I just caught my 6 year old daughter singing Toni's harmonies on Tennessee Waltz. I can't wait for you guys to come back to KC.

    As a big fan of Willie Nelson (The Red Headed Stranger), you young man have done him proud with this cover one of his greatest tunes. Fantastic guitar playing (both parts) and a nice, smooth voice. Great job.

    THIS is why I subscribed to this channel and up vote every video! This right here! And he doesn't even need a guitar full of holes or a bandana headband! Willie, however, could have used a little of that singing face! lol

    I have been a devoted fan of good vocalists since Frankie Laine to Sinatra/Presley/Baez/McCartney/Yearwood/Sheeran/etc ..... you get the point. The always on point and soothing McKee voice is second to none. I just love it.
