Blue Commodore 64 | My first spray-painted C64 | Breadbin Case
Ғылым және технология
In this video, You can see the complete Commodore 64 spray painting process, from disassembling to complete rebuilding and playing games.
❤ This is my first paint job so I was learning along the way but I am quite pleased with the result.
❗ I chose a primer and blue paint from a series of car sprays because they have UV and rust protection and blue paint already has gloss in it. ❗

The blue looks really good. :) The trick to a good spray finish is multiple thin coats.

Thank You, Yes I still need some practice :) Also, I just notice that I choose (by accident) the same (or almost the same) colour as Noel's Retro Lab (kzread.info/dash/bejne/lq1mqKayYdSfaLQ.html)
Hahaha!!! Blue feet 😂 ... Nice spray job. it was nice to see it being painted inside too . 😊 Looks really nice

Thanks! 😊 It was by accident but I pick up the same colour (or almost the same ) as Noel's Retro Lab on his c64. My feet are now fine, but these fine blue particles are going everywhere are then land on lower flat surfaces, so my floor is also blue :) I should do this outside, hm...next time...
Very funky, the dark keys go really well with the blue! I hope you got the paint off your feet😁

Thank You. I did manage to clean the feet, but the floor is all blue as well. I guess that those fine particles falls down on the floor and you can not notice them at first, but a day later...uf :)
Piece of art! Nice colour:)

Yes, it does, Thank You for positive comment Igor :)
For some reason I've been watching a bunch of these lately, and one of the videos recommended using a hot air gun to soften the glue when removing the logo & power plates. I have no personal experience with this, but I'm just passing it along.

I never used a hot air gun for that, in most cases I've seen, people use WD40 or something similar to soften the glue and then some sharp knife or scalpel to gently remove the sticker. I would be careful with using hot air, as it can deform the case. Cheers!
You'll get a lovely hard-wearing gloss if you give it a clear-coat of lacquer, too.

Thank You for watching :) Cheers!
Nice. What is the foam at 15:20?

That is protective foam for car interior plastic. I use that just because I had it at home but there are some better options for old plastic surfaces but I do not have any experience with that.
How well does spray paint on plastic respond to heat and humidity?

So far, very well :) It needs to pass a little bit more time for this machine, but generally, I think that it should be ok. In comparison, some machines that I retrobrite a year or two ago already started to yellow.
