Blue Catfish Trip With Captain Zakk Royce on Lake Gaston!!

What a day!! Ace and I caught 20 Catfish on this guided trip out on Lake Gaston with the Famous Capt. Zakk Royce. Something I somehow forgot to mention in the video is that Zakk and I have been in contact for over 10 years through an old message board called fishlakegaston. We were both in our teens and we would share fishing trips, tips, and occasionally live bait with each other back in the day! He has always been a super nice guy, and not to mention a seriously skilled angler. Can't say he didn't learn from another truly skilled angler (his Dad) Jon Royce! He get's out there and wacks em with Zakk too.
Ace and I have gone out in the past and targeted catfish but without too much luck. Today completely changed that to say the least. Though we didn't hook up with any giants, we knew we were around them all day and with Zakk teaching us the ropes we really had the best possible chance of catching a true pig. HUGE thanks to Zakk for getting us out there and showing us an awesome time and schooling us on catfishing. I don't think I've edited a video where we were laughing this much.

That looked like my trip that I just took with Zack we caught 20 fish also. we also didn't get any big boys but we had a blast with him. he is a cool cat. lol Nice video

Ive always wanted to catch some big cats on gaston. Only fished it once, and that was for a tournament. Good video man. Come back down to NC sometime I'll put you on some big bass at Falls!

my uncle has a house on gaston on the virginia side near holly Grover marina! great cat fishing at buggs island as well!

Perfect! One of my favorite times to fish Falls. Is there another way we can keep in touch? KZread probably isn't convenient for either of us lol
