Blower Vs Turbine Vs Plow | Fastest Leaf Removal
The Ventrac leaf removal system provides the maneuverability of hand tools combined with the power and efficiency of a truly industrial machine. All 3 of these attachments play a key role in our leaf removal line-up and allow Ventrac to be the best equipment to remove leaves from a property.
The KA160 Power Blower is the smaller of the two blowers offered by Ventrac and is enough for most property owner’s needs. It’s a step between a backpack blower and a higher volume commercial blower. The Power Blower bridges the gap between these two sets of needs and gives you a lot more capability and power to work with than handheld equipment. The movement of this blower is 180 degrees on the horizontal axis using the auxiliary hydraulics. This is a great blower for most sized properties up to 5 acres.
The Ventrac ET202 Turbine blower is a commercial-sized blower that you will see on properties like golf courses, school districts, municipalities and used often by landscape contractors. Along with additional power and air volume, the Turbine Blower operates on a vertical plane and can be rotated 360 degrees. This is the blower used to get the job done as fast as possible. The ET202 Turbine Blower makes clearing large areas an easy task and is maneuverable around trees, light posts, and other obstacles. Designed to blow large volumes of air at 175mph, the Ventrac Turbine Style Blower is much quieter than a conventional blower and yields impressive results.
Among their valuable applications, both blowers can be used to remove debris, light snow and leaves from sidewalks, parking lots and other areas. They both offer convenience of operation from the seat of the tractor and hydraulic control of the nozzle direction. And the optional light kit is offered on both blowers for nighttime clean-ups on shorter fall days.
And the newest addition to this leaf removal system is the Ventrac EF300 Leaf Plow which is the fastest way to move deep layers of leaves. The leaf plow can be rear or front-mounted. The advantage of front mounting the plow allows for better command, visibility, and easier maneuverability. But having the Leaf Plow mounted on the 3-point hitch of the tractor allows for the use of the high-powered blower on the front PTO, making this the most efficient leaf removal combination ever.

My neighbor is in his mid 80s. We keep his gutters cleaned out for him during the fall. He got behind on leaf cleanup this week so I took the leaf blower over and cleaned up a little over an acre of leaves in a very short amount of time. I could really use a leaf plow! :)

I used to work at a golf course that never had one of these machines until this summer, they purchased a 4500Z which was an absolute gamechanger for us. This fall, our drag-behind Toro ProForce turbine blower (it's on wheels and hitches to the back of a golf cart) finally died after 16 years of service (RIP Freddy) and they needed a replacement quickly. I happened to notice that Ventrac made a blower and floated the idea to the owner of purchasing that for us since I rather liked the idea of having the blower in front of me as opposed to behind me (that's a hell of a way to give yourself neck issues in a hurry). He agreed and purchased one and wow, what a game changer. Normally, during an 8 hour day I'd only be able to do maybe 4-6 holes with the drag-behind. With the Turbine Blower on the Vantrac, I ran out of holes to blow off after only 5 1/2 hours and had to change attachments to start mulching. I was fully expecting that to be at least a three to four day job. ONE DAY! I no longer work there and find myself missing using that machine. To the point I've been considering purchasing a 4520 myself starting my own contracting business (still a work in progress in my head at this moment). Turbine blower, hands down, a gamechanger. Golf courses spend months dealing with leaf removal and I'm a firm believer that every golf course should have a Ventrac with a Turbine Blower attachment.

Preach it! Thanks for the note.... it's so good to hear about people finding the equipment useful like this out in the real world.

If you have a property that is bordered by other properties, you really have nowhere to push the leaves too. And it would be unsightly and undesirable to have a compost bin in the far corner of your property. I would like to see you offer something that would reduce the leaves to dust so you can return them to the yard as fertilizer to further decompose over winter.

I have about 20 acres, about 12 that I mow and the rest woodlands of hardwoods. Large hardwoods spotted throughout the mowing agea. Logs of leaves. I mow tall spring to fall and when leaves drop I lower the mower an inch or so and mow blowing toward the wooded edges. Usually one trip blowing and tracking back in same lane, all with the 72" finish mower. The windrow of leaves does not get too big because of the percentage that is ground to fines. The fines do not blow much in the wind and rapidly deteriorate.

At the end you said these were the only 3 attachments you have for leaves but I have seen you previously show a vacuum attachment that sucks the leaves up as they are discharged from the mower deck. Are you still producing that?

kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJ12payenpXPcdo.html I had a Material Collection System (MCS) on my JD but that required frequent stops to empty the bags. The Ventrac system is better because you can raise and dump the ‘box’ from the seat. There are lots of variables as folks debate leaf clean-up solutions. It is those variables that define the solution. It took me a week once to clean up a half acre of foot + deep old wet leaves.

Yes - we still have the vac collection system. But it's really best for grass-only. It will do leaves and shred them nicely but you have to keep up with them much more frequently than these other tools. If you try to go into a really deep layer of leaves, the vac won't keep up very well.

Interesting leaf removal machines, there's another leaf removal machine that is a suction to suck the leaves in you should try that. I saw one of those things out there it had a vacuum and it sucks the leaves into the machine, one of those workers were using that type of leaf removal machine.
