I think Wizards are doing this to increase FOMO sales. Same thing as Lorcana. The CEO for Lorcana confirmed they actually want stock shortages because it drives pre-orders for future sets and avoids flops like Marlov Manor

Manor made itself a flop by being super corny. FOMO and cards can only do that much, if the theme is uninteresting people won't go get it.

Collector boxes not so much

I pre-ordered BloomBurrow Precons, Prerelease kits, Bundles, & Play Booster boxes from my LGS back in April and May and got great prices. I also have another source where I can get fantastic prices from a distributor. I have no problems ordering BloomBurrow and other set products. I know Wizards will print a lot of this product. I will also wait to get some singles. There are some really good cards in this set. Thank you for the video Mox Man. Ramble Jamble. That is very generous of you to sell those cards to your patrons at the same price you paid.

MSRP crippled stores while allowing secondary market to reap huge gains … but msrp was removed when wizards started selling directly to consumer 😅

@TacomaTacos msrp is at least a guide line, stores can always sell for less or more depending on their overhead, that is reality. MsRP is there for the consumer so they have an idea of what the manufacturer thinks it is "worth"

Secondary market conditions are fueled mostly by supply and then by hype/playability. Products having an MSRP just rage baited low IQ players. The removal of it was a response to this IMO

As others have said, there will be a lot of product available. The bigger part is: "When?" The first wave of allocation has been set and that's all the FOMOing and "need it ASAP" stuff. It will be around. But people are super hyped for the set and they want to play the set. Not 3-4 weeks after release...they want in on release/pre-release. That drives scarcity and pricing. If you have the patience, it should be just fine. Additionally!! DUE TO THE HYPE, THERE WILL LIKELY BE A LOT OF PRODUCT OPENED. This will mean a significant amount of available singles surplus. Don't FOMO into crazy high pre-release singles prices. Look at MH3.... You can get a copy of Emrakul for less than 20 bucks. Moxman got his playset at 30 bucks.. before that they were 40+ for the cheapest version. Bloomburrow will have a lot of singles on the market. Shop smart. #BOOMSTICK

Discounted pre sales of collectors boxes sold out yesterday morning on eBay , and prices along most place were increased 20% across the board. People are excited about this set and Fomo is starting to kick in. This is great for the set and the interest is there. I’m excited for bloomburrow after not buying a magic product for 15+ year

Commander decks all sold out in my neck of the woods. Bloomburrow is a skip for me but the art is amazing. Three tree city in winter, is one of the best land arts I've ever seen.

The power creep has been real with OTJ, MH3, and now Bloomburrow.

My local posted the commander decks 2-3 or so months ago they sold out 1 week after the posting Nuff said about this sets hype

My LGS in US just started taking pre-orders today lol. I was assuming it was because they were still doing stuff with Assassin's Creed, but I guess it could be because they were getting supply. But otherwise I'd assume it's like what you said about seeing how many people pre-order before purchasing from their supplier. As far as prices go, Starter Kit and Prerelease kit are comparible to TCGplayer and Cardkingdom, but the Bundle and Booster Box are both 9-10$ higher than the sites

I want to get into MTG with this set since I don't particularly like the cheaper options out the at the moment but I realized that this card game has even worse problems than other big tcg. It makes me want to just not get into the game because these terrible companies don't care about the experience and game anymore.

I preordered the Racoon precon cause I think that a gruul commander that makes non-equipment artifacts and non-aura-enchantements into 4/4 indestructibles with haste is super funny. Imagine a racoon turning a vehicle into 4/4 elemental with haste and indestructible, thats hilarious :D

The set comes out in 18 days so I’m surprised you think it’s sold out

Stores that have poor cash flow need pre-oders to stay afloat. Long term stores with high cash reserves dont need to do this, thus they dont need to presell and have product instead of preselling it all out.

As I usually only want the cards I can wait for release. No need to run for a pre-order on a set that will be in supply for at least 2 years, likely the full 3 year window of its standard lifetime.

WoTc is doing exactly as I predicted. They’re holding from distribution until after the Amazon release then back out to the LGSs. They’re pushing direct to consumers by using Amazon

it amazes me how you can say you're "excited" for this stuff every set.... it's just another commander set disguised as a normal set. don't get me wrong commander is great but it's destroyed the rest of the game.

I dont buy physical cards anymore. Had a bad habit buying magic cards in 95 -2001. So noped out. Now i buy on computer digital cards, first on mtgo now on arena.

I don't recommend preordering. If you want the set as soon as it releases, go to your LGS... even if you have to drive almost 2 hours. Stores that sell preorders take a looooong time to ship. So if you want it sooner, you have to wait till the seller has the product IN HAND. If you pay in advance, your preorder is locked in, and the seller has no reason to rush your order, sorry. Even a complely reputable seller will ship their preorders at the last possible moment, because there's no pressure on them to get you your product asap. I'm talking about a certain seller that sells directly from tcgplayer. I'm telling you: Wait till the seller has the product in hand before you pay them for it.

Negatively Complaining endlessly about every set release seems to be a great source of income for you congratulations Mox Man

They will print this junk into the ground, I'll just get the stuff later.
