Bloomberg Green: The Dangers of Methane Gas

Oct.11 -- We all know the impact of CO2, but what about the other greenhouse gas: methane? It's produced by industries from agriculture to oil and gas, and is the cause of 28% of all human-caused climate change. In this edition, we speak to Claus Zehner of the European Space Agency, spotting from emissions from space, and the methane hunters of the Permian Basin, who hold fracking companies to account for the invisible pollutant. Plus, how can the international community stop the authoritarian state of Turkmenistan from leaking tonnes of methane into the atmosphere?

My grandfather said to solve the polution problem we are going to have to cap and use the methane leaking from the oil wells. He was a oil man. He did not think his boss would even admit the leaks exist. My grandfather died the thanksgiving befor Pearl Harbor, 1941. I never heard him say it. My father said it ever time he saw an oil rig bunrning gas.

They need infrastructure laws that benefit the natural gas industry like every gas pumping companies should be burning that excess gas to boil water and make electricity on site so that there's no gas leaking and there's most likely gas leaking around the well pipe at the ground so those well sights should be capped 20 feet around and compressed like a cement dome.
