I'm a guy who prefers 2D animation but that animated intro ranges from mediocre to bad. It was made arround the 2000's, a period of change on the anime industry when they transitioned from cel animation to computer, the studios were late to adapt to that technology and animation from that period generally aged badly with worse trace, overly bright colors and bad compositions.

You mean it held the GC back. Gamecube mini disc had a limit like the PSP UMD. High quality FMVs and textures required compression or games would struggle to fit within a 1.5GB disc. There's very little difference between these two versions. What it comes down to is: Do you prefer the story font, CG cut/story scenes, controller, extra (clone) character, and 1/10th/second faster loading speed of the X-Box...or the animated cut/story scenes & controller of the GC version?

Yeah, they easily could've just slapped on the 2D intro with the Xbox (as it has higher storage space via DVD) ... but I genuinely like the choice they made in going with CG modeling. It matches better with this particular game, as the game isn't a 2D fighter. Plus, *the endings* in Xtreme even got the 3D modeling treatment... which is way better, in my opinion. At any rate, the intro/CG differences don't factor in much at all with my overall personal assessment.
wow, actually both made an impresive job with the intros
great job
Hand drawn looks much better for the intro
I'd really like to see a comparison between 2 versions of a game with the same controller inputs. For example with Sonic the Hedgehog, it would be way easier to tell the difference between the two games if Sonic does the exact same thing on both screens. You can record a "TAS" or "movie" consisting of what inputs you want and you can sync them while compensating for potential delays (e.g. Megaman 3 US has a longer intro than JP). Basically paste the controller inputs at the very start of a level in both versions and the character will do the same thing. I'll gladly help if needed.
@Heyim18bro
Жыл бұрын
they could fall out of sync for a number of reasons. In practice it doesn't really work with games like this that are not only different on the different platforms with different scrolling text, cutscene time, etc, but also have a lot of "random" elements that aren't going to be the same given how they generate those random numbers, so like the cpus aren't going to do the same moves while playing both games at the same time even if you do the same inputs
@Eta_Hoyimi
Жыл бұрын
@@Heyim18bro Even in a world where latency doesn't cause the inputs to fall out of sync, the first inconsistency in loading or first gameplay difference will throw the entirety of one side of it out of sync for the remainder of the "run"
Um detalhe é que o único q recebeu o título Primal Fear foi a versão ocidental do game clube já que a original japonesa é chamada de Extreme assim com as versões de Xbox. the really need to bring this back
1. I do dig the anime opening and ending cutscenes on the GameCube. However I find Nintendo's censorship quite funny. That bar in the ending cutscene must sell the finest grape juice in town. 2. I'm trying to figure out what makes the Xbox version so EXTREME. 2:38 Maybe it's the more EXTREME font size. EXTREMELY easier too read. 3. I guess Street Fighter II popularized the trend of fighting on active military posts in this case an aircraft carrier without being arrested.

I'm on a different account due to me having w step verification locking me out after my computer died but, nonetheless I'm here to enjoy these comparisons. GameCube version I played a lot of since I was 20. And the Xbox version I never played since I never owned an Xbox. So far the only differences I can point out are that the GameCube version has anime cutscenes and less content than the Xbox version, while the Xbox version has slightly improved graphics, more content such as online and the Fang character swap for Yugo (I don't know what else it has GameCube doesn't), and CGI cutscenes that replace the anime cutscenes (I'm guessing many people back then liked that since anime wasn't socially accepted back then like it is now for the most part lol). I would honestly say that despite Xbox's graphical improvements I would stick to the GameCube version. Mainly because in the Japanese version of this game on GameCube the title is, Bloody Road Extreme. Not only that you would get to keep the anime cutscenes most of the menus are still in English with only the story itself being in Japanese. You also get the Fang character swap as well, but of course no online for the PvP only boys. FUN FACT: This game uses Bloody Roar 3 as a base and is considered an upgraded version of the game as Bloody Roar 3 does have GameCube and Xbox listed as available platforms. I can see why Bloody Roar extreme would be another Bloody Roar 3 because, both games do share some of the same stages (with different environments. Kind of like with Virtual Fighter 4, 4 Evolution, and 4 Final Tuned or Tekken 5 and 5 Dark Resurrection). I wish I had a lot more to say honestly. EDIT: I forgot to mention the loading... Xbox has better loading.
