As far as who gets bitten first, it's maybe not as simple as highest non-tank threat - there's some evidence of it being someone other than that. Regardless, you'll be fine if you use the weak aura as it will adjust accordingly.

it seems to be the third highest threat, which could be actually your offtank is someone manages to out-threat him by blowing CDs

We saw this on the PTR as well, and it seems to be counting the person with Blood Mirror as a tank also. We pretty consistently saw the person right behind the OT in threat as the one getting bit, so once we told the OT to pump threat as well (we initially told them not to so we could have a specific person be 2nd) it behaved as expected with "highest non-tank threat gets bit first"

Can blood mirror shadow damage be resisted? If it can then couldn't the OT stack some shadow resistance to reduce damage taken?

Is there an issue with misdirect on thjs boss? Our hunter was not in top 3 threat or dps, but kept getting bit.

If you use tems icc pack do you still need foji bite WA?

Yes, you bite ranged till third bite to make the enrage easier

Do you have to actually target someone, or can you just stand next to a few players and if anyone is unbitten they get it? And can you use a "/cast [@mouseover] Vampiric Bite macro"?

Does bartender interfere with getting the Vampiric Bite ability? When I got bit in ptr I didn't get the ability.

its under action bar paging isnt it? Like when druids shapeshift it pages to the bar number its set to.

If your a Druid you need to pop out of form to see the bite ability on your action bar. I learned the hard way on heroic 😂

Ok looks like i have a problem with Vampiric Bite didint even appear in my number 1 bottom. I am useing Dominos addon. If anyone know why this is happening please tell me

Have the same problem with bartender. Clicking the ability should work where you see it, otherwise make a macro /cast vampiric bite . But I'm guessing you would've made it work by now.

Is there a way to know who got bitten and who has not? Like do they look any different?

If i remember correctly, you need to bite 3 other people for quest. Just reserve 3 people who only you will bite, pretty easy. Easiest part of the quest imo.

You also need to get the other blood debuff, which I am less clear about. The biting is easy, having the blood mirror debuff at the same time is less clear. On top of that, I've read healing removes the "gaping wound" debuff you get when doing the quest, so I wanted clarification on that as well @@JJ-ts6zo

I really like your guides and i know its been 3 months since the last major comment activity here, but i really wanted to point out one thing that bothered me a lot cause it did cost the guild i play with a couple of early heroic BQ kills in the first 2-3 weeks due to too little dps even with everyone staying alive. It concerns the statement made at 3:21 minutes in the Video. You've correctly listed the timers of the Boss with 5:20 enrage time, 0:15 seconds into the fight the first bite going out, meaning if every bite was done instantly, you would have 16 dpsers biten and at 5:15 with 5 seconds left to go those 16 would need to bite which obviously cant all bite the remaining 9 guys. this case shouldnt happen. The reason for delaying the bite i see given most often is that the 2nd bite done by players around 2:15 into the fight overlapses with the air phase of Bloodqueen where she deals a lot of damage to the raid via the splashing blood bolts. The late first bite would allow you to work around this in a way, but at a cost. You suggested doing the first bite as late as possible, so lets assume 8 to 9 seconds out of the 10 second window you have. In this case the first biter would already have consumed the 5 seconds time window between 5:15 where 16 dpsers could potentially have the bite debuff if all bites were done instantly and 5:20 where blood queen enters her enrage., cause all the following bites are bound to the first biters time of biting. In the case of 1st guy only biting after 8 seconds, that would mean the 3 seconds surplus (8-5=3seconds) would be the minimal uptime of bite buff on dpsers during the enrage for 16 dpsers -> 16*3 seconds being 48 seconds of double damage uptime. If you delay the first bite by 9 seconds, thats already up to 16*4 seconds = 64 seconds. And that is your best case scenario where all the following bites are instantly which probably not all your raiders will always be able to do. I am saying this because when i analyzed some of the early attempts of the guild i am in on BQ, i realized we sometimes went up to a total of 176 or even 236 seconds of total buff uptime being pushed into her enrage where she quickly kills off the raid with her aoe. The biting during air phase with bolts on 2nd bite is a problem, but from what i experienced, and what timers showed me on a lot of analyzed fights, only if the very first biter doesnt do his bite instantly. If the first guy does his bite instantly, even when not dispelled from the 4 seconds lasting fear, you still have 2 seconds afterwards to get to your target and bite it. And after having bitten, you then still have 2 seconds left to return to the 6 yards spread before her bolts from the air phase hitting. I heard the first biters complain about losing dps when premoving before they have been transformed, but moving 2 seconds as even the best dps in the raid cant possibly be compared to losing 2 seconds for every other of the potential 16 bitten dps at the end of the fight. And for the first bite where 1 target gets bitten / 2nd bite where 2 guys get bitten, personal cd's like dispersion , IBF, defensive stance + shieldwall, healthstones etc. on up to 2 targets should be enough to mitigate bite + bolt + 1 potential bolt splash. I heard mages and DK's tell me that iceblock / AMS makes em unbiteable, can't confirm it at this point, so maybe wait until you get bitten, then iceblock, wait to be healed up, break it? I have seen a lot of guilds and runs making sure that all the bites are done instantly , 1st and 2nd one being especially important though, and having great success with it, not running into the trouble of having to bite during the bolts. And i get that at this point with the gear that most runs have and the buff, it shouldnt be a problem to kill her in time. Neither should it have been when we first attempted it in the first weeks, but the guild i played with is quite casual so it happens. Sorry for the wall of text, but i like to be specific and precise. Greetings

Hey, thanks for the long comment, I appreciate it. I agree with your point in current p4/5 gear, but in the first week/month of ICC with no % buff we found it was very common for the person biting/biter to die due to lower HP values - something that's not nearly as problematic now given the advancement of gear/buff. In the (many) attempts we gave her on PTR it was always a problem for us so this adjustment mitigated the issue and we still made the DPS check. Yes, defensives might assist but the biter themselves cannot pop anything, and it adds a complication that we opted to avoid. These guides, as they age, start to become less precise because of meta changes and the like so its understandable. Either way, thanks so much for your in depth comment and hope to keep providing helpful content for you moving into Catacylsm.

this isn't a thing on classic. this was private server only where IMP DP had bugged scaling with haste and dmg% modifiers.

The first player to player bite should be a spriest, if you know you know. Maybe ask pummel, LMAO.

No PI, no tricks, and no icc gear btw on the aff lock. Aff will be a really great bite especially during drain soul phase.
