How are receptors on the surface of a rbc in the bloodstream? I thought if a cell presented receptors it has a nucleus and having o2 chemically adhering to a rbc or polarizing carrying 02 and co2 maturing in marrow, wouldn't wbc's be the ones to present the receptors outside the bloodstream? If you pull blood from the bloodstream naturally the receptors will come out of cells, outside the bloodstream, studying blood invetro, receptors are presented for rebuilding and defense of a cell or offense .

very helpful..but i thought that the Rh grouping is the opposite of what u said? meaning that Rh+ve means no Rh antibodies?

Hospital told me I can not receive blood. My type is A pos, ABSC neg. I don't understand the ABSC part. Can you help? I think I understand the "positive" to be the "rh" so type A, rh = pos?

Dr. Campbell, I think you meant to say @ 17:29 that O positive will be given on those very rare occasions.

Dr. John Campbell It's not in the video. It's just that I had an epiphany. One reason we shouldn't consume blood of animals or humans is because of our immune response. The bible says that blood is life & we shouldn't consume it. All I could think of is the antibody response. Deuteronomy 12:23, Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:14, Leviticus 17:10, Acts 15:20, Leviticus 3:17, Acts 15:29, Deuteronomy 12:16

Karthik Karthik It's *then, not than. Billy is saying we should not consume blood. Besides...draining the animal's blood out is one of the first steps after killing it in processing the meat. So no we aren't "consuming" the blood if we eat animals. There may be traces of it.
