Yes indeed. Loved her in London "Marilyn!" as well as "BB."

My god you found this I have seen Blood Brothers twice and wished they had taped Miss Lawrence liked they did the original West End. She was so underrated as a star and died too soon.

I met Stephanie while she was doing 'Blood Brothers' in NYC. I had already seen her in 'Marilyn, The Musical,' and 'Starlight Express' in the West End so I was already a big fan. I had mentioned that I had seen her those and she made a joke about being very old. She was only about 43 at the time. She was wonderful, sweet, and very funny.

I remember reading a profile about her in the TV Times or something back in the mid-80s. She was pictured with her car, an old Merc (450 SL?), which - at that time - was, constantly, running out of electricity. She quipped that there was never a shortage of 'knights in shining armour', who would come to her rescue whenever she needed help jump-starting it. I don't doubt it! I'm sure I would have been in the queue, given the chance. Seriously, though, it's hard to believe that nearly 20 years have gone by since we lost her. 50...….Too young...

What an incredible talent. Stephanie Lawrence was the first Mrs Johnston I ever saw. And no one has ever come close. Was also lucky to see her as grizabella in Cats. Gone far too soon xx

Stephanie Lawrence sounds so different to the way she sounds on the 1995 revival recording, and she looks gorgeous but she is definitely the best Mrs J of all time followed by Lyn Paul

Stephanie Lawrence also did blood brothers with the 1995 London cast.

Stephanie’s wig makes her look like a young Debbie Reynolds abs or Elaine Page.

Preferred Con O'Neill in the West End run, but he's still a standout here. Think he had a huge chemistry with the London cast. Such a shame the late Robert Locke never got to go to Broadway, think he might have even passed away already when this was filmed.

Robert passed in July 1992, such a shame. He was so young too.

Love this they are all amazing but don't understand why they get Mickey and Eddie to sing at the end too, I think it's more powerful when they are lying dead in front of the audience and Mrs J places their hands together. But still very good 😊
