This was my very first 8 track that I've had a child during the very early 90's. My mom had this gigantic 8 track players and millions of different 8 tracks and I chose Blondie out of all of those and would play it non stop on repeat I fell in love with this song and Blondie! I used to sing and dance to this song everyday as a child and my family would all laugh and pamper me lol.. good times forever the best song ever!

As a 12 year old kid from the South Bronx back in 1980, a childhood friend of mines who was an up and coming Hip Hop street dancer / breaker/electric boogie dancer, etc., invited me to go to downtown Manhattan as he had a private gig to dance for some white lady. We got in a O.J. aka a private taxi and headed to Manhattan. Upon arrival to a building on Park avenue we were met by a doorman who escorted us to a private elevator and then he pressed the PH button (Penthouse). Once the elevator opened we were greeted by BLONDIE herself. She just released the song "Call me" which was played a lot in my neighborhood on the local radio stations. That was the only reason I kind of knew who she was. She was very intrigued by the evolution of the Hip Hop culture and had hired my boy to come over to her private party and perform the Electric Boogie dance as a form of entertainment to her friends. She gave us $300 at the end of the night and my friend and I ran to Burger King and ate like kings.... A few months later she dropped the song "RAPTURE"........Blondie was a big fan of the Hip Hop culture. #truestory

I'm 55 and I remember Blondie, I always liked the group, but it's only now I appreciate how brilliant and so ahead of their time they were, this song is a mixture of pop, rock, punk with multi riffs and of course that unique voice of Debbie, all combined brilliantly. To think they were an American band who broke Europe but didn't do 'too well' at home...I now think they were a great I hesitate to say undervalued because their music keeps popping up everywhere, Yes I'm here because of American Gigolo.

Track about being available to someone who loves you. It expresses the desire of the singer to be available to their beloved for phone calls, to share time together and to be there for them any time. The song also encourages the listener to contact and call their beloved in order to be able to spend time together and share experiences. The song expresses that one's love is more powerful than anything else, and it is important to be there for one another no matter the circumstances.

No doubt! I turned 16 in 1985 and as you know, as kids we didn't have the internet and video games. Heck, my family didn't get cable until I was in 7th grade. However, we had music and that was all I ever needed, we are lucky to have grown up back then! Such an amazing era, and these classic songs are like a time capsule that helps me remember exactly how I felt, what I thought about, and how much I loved music. Debra Harry was one of my first crushes, Wow what a babe! Kids these days have so many conveniences and although my teenagers enjoy music, I don't think they will ever appreciate it as much as we did.

@Wesley Torna NWA's time was mid to late 80's. While Blondie's heyday was 78 through 81 But yes, I loved Rap just as much as I did Metal and and some Pop/New wave. Back then I discovered Hip hop from BreakDancing friends. I was into before it became a sensation and could truly Break just as good as anyone, in fact I made quite a lot of money performing at birthday parties, affect being hired by a Telegram service. But while we are here discussing music Wesley, what about before NWA, back when Dr Dre was still Doctor Dre in surgery, back we had Run DMC and that's the way it was. Or Kurtis Blow (friends) The Egyptian Lover, Roxanne, Roxanne, Kraftwerk, Art of Noise. I am not a fan of country but most genres have great music. Do you like Mr Bungle?

A rock band (Blondie) stole your heart? Kinda weird.
Who’s here in ‘24 like really?!

I loved Blondie as a kid in the 70s and 80s and still do to this day. Its hard for younger people to understand just how innovative and different Blondie was then. There was no one like them. Debbie reminds me of Marylin Monroe in this video. She is so talented.

My school friend loves the blondies and 70's music, she was the reason I started listening to Blondies more. 💃🏻
I’m loved this song since Bride of Chucky and it fit perfectly for The Conjuring!

In the 90s and early 2000s we had No Doubt but in the 70s and 80s we had Blondie!
