The auto tune on Faris's voice is meant to evoke a retro bhangra music feel, 80s 90s. Also, the colours are reminiscent of Punjabi cinema, if you look at film posters (like the one shown at the start of the song) they feature those neon colours. So the idea is that there is a blockbuster movie premiering and everyone has gathered to watch it. That's what the trailer is for at the end of the song. There's also a billboard which says Movie Premier in Urdu/ Punjabi when Faris gets off the bus. The bus, by the way, is a very typical blinged out bus. You see these all over Pakistan. Transport trucks and other vehicles like rickshaws are also decorated in this fashion, with extremely colourful art and also catchy/witty slogans and poetry. There are countless cultural references in this video, it's meant to depict a typical Lahori neighbourhood in a particular era. It fits in perfectly with the theme of cultural promotion of Pakistan that season 15 is focusing on. I do think that this video is a piece of art, meticulously detailed.

Umair Butt was part of Butt Brothers in Neray Neray Vas and he has co written this song as well along with his bother Shamroze. Neray Neray Vas was written by Adnan Dhool who also sang the song

Agree with you, the least Coke Studio track for me this season, too commercial and fake with all that auto tuning. A couple of other songs like Aari Aari and 2 AM took a while to grow on me but Blockbuster hasn't agreed with me even after multiple viewings.
