My dad was a custom painter. He told me when metal pops, sanding stops. Otherwise you're just removing the filler material and creating low spots. It will feel okay under your hand but you will see the the lows in the final product.

Great vid and demonstration and congrats on using the Super Build while so many others are still using Feather Fill\Slicksand etc. I came across it few years back and it's what I recommend when a person is or wanting to use a good quality Hi-Build Poyester Primer. However over a year now lately, I have been using and sold on the High Build Epoxy Primers (personally) but yeah, the Super Build Polyester is a more affordable option there as well. GOOD Stuff it is! I too, JUST bought the Master Set of the Linear Blocks set and am very anxious to put them to work as well, and possibly retire some of my other Dura-blocks,Flex-Blocks,True Blox, etc.😏 Again, Great vid and as always, Happy Restoring! 👍

Rickey Racer - 😆🤣😭 Heck yeah! I live on the stuff (coffee ☕) Lol. I do switch to decaf or a regular with decaf later in the day though 😏 lol. Heck, being an over 10 year sober alcoholic/addict nowadays, and now, yet again? On day 12 off of chewing tobacco (the ABSOLUTE MOST difficult thing to quit 😮‍💨). Caffeine, Trident gum and chocolate ARE my biggest and ONLY vices so...? And yeah, just WHERE CAN I get some of THAT coffee ☕? 🤔😁Lol..... Just KEEP a GRINDIN! 💪👍

Have you tried 3M Cubitron II 320g on second block after 120g first block with Evercoat high build 4:1 before 3rd block?

How do you handle spots that block straight but feel uneven? IE all the guidecoat is gone and it’s all Uniform gray but when you run your hand over it, you can feel inconsistencies

Wish I could sand that fast...

I'm getting ready to shoot the fill/build primer. I have a coat of 2K epoxy sealer on it now. What grit do you use to scuff or sand the epoxy before hitting it with the featherfill ? Thanks !

How long ago did you spray the epoxy? If it is within the recoat window, then do not scuff.

I think that one is a 24" flex block. It is one of me go-to's, but if you're on a nice flat surface, the 18" solid block is my favorite. They get kind of unmanageable if any longer. And they eat sand paper...all the long blocks do, though.

How do you explain all the ridler awards cars that were built before these new blocks ,they just look like large 3/16 hose from home depot with a bunch of slices in it and ask 500 bucks for a few blocks ?

People will learn how to use whatever block they choose to use. Some will master using a paint stick. Some won't. I find the linear blocks very cut and dry to use. I still have my arsenal of randomly shaped blocks and durablocks that I use regularly. The linear blocks (at least these long ones) are perfect for getting panels laser straight. I use them to cut clear as well. It takes out the chop or wave in the clear. The home depot hose you speak of is floppy soft garbage. These are rigid polycarbonate. Big difference.

Can you use dykem layout fluid as guide coat ??

I don't think you want that getting absorbed into the primer. I would be worried about it bleeding through the paint if you didn't get all of it removed when sanding.

The ultra build polyester would you paint streight over it or prime first thanks

I usually 2K prime, but if you sand smooth enough, you can seal and paint over it.

@@richreece8840 Most epoxy primers will load up sand paper pretty quickly, but if I'm trying to fill heavy spots with filler on top of the epoxy, I will block with 80 grit. Then fill low spots. Block again with 80. Apply a couple good coats of Super Build, and block away.

Do you shoot paint after sanding down the evercoat superbuild primer, or do you shoot a 2k primer before and then paint?

I always shot 2K over the super build. Sometimes I seal, sometimes not.

Your local auto body supplier will have several choices. I use PPG on most of my work.

Did you sand in-between the epoxy and polyester primer?

I sprayed the poly primer on top of the epoxy within the sprayable window without sanding. If left to cure, it would need to be sanded.

I have the same block all the rings are falling off only used it a dozen times. Also do not leave paper on that block for a long time don`t ask me how i know lol. good luck

Odd...have you contacted them for a new one? I use mine regularly and never not had a failure yet, except for one ring where I dropped it on the concrete. oops. As far as the sandpaper, what brand are you using? When I use Sunmight, it sticks HARD and does the same thing you mention. 3M pulls right off...even after a month of sitting on there.
