Hey Mark. I was actually going to do a public video from a students standpoint on these. I might still do the video, but I have to say you've answered a large number of my questions. Does this apply also to the drill Brush, Grab Strike? It seems to be the same principal with 3 touch points, but instead it's using the Brush/Parry/Pass motion instead of starting with a block. Is that fair to say? Also.... I hear often that both these drills, (Brush Grab Strike AND Block Check Counter) apply in the exact same way to a bladed hand. But if an individual with a blade in their right hand is performing such movements, the blade can be in a hand that's either 'closer to,' or 'further from' the opponent. Does this change anything? My assumptions on this are: if you have a bladed hand, every three count iteration should start with the bladed hand so that you use the leverage tool twice in a three count sequence. Example - Cut, check, Cut seems to impact the opponent more aggressively than Check cut Check. Is this a safe assumption? And again, does it change anything in this drill when keeping in mind that the blade can be closer to or further from the opponent depending on which way we take our angle? Thank you from Prince Rupert, Canada!!! :)

Are you concerned that the timing and distance for these attacks your partner is feeding might be distorted? His cross was shown to be lined up out of distance. How do you compensate for the reduced time and stronger opposition your opponent realistically has? Any thoughts on their ability to grapple being easier?

He just does this for demo purposes. In other videos, he explains about how once you have the mechanics down, you'll play with range and different levels of resistance.

There's also the fact that if the opponent is closer, this very well Judy not be what you'd want to do. It might be better go with an arm shield and combo off of that.

@@nickmurdaugh9856 my point is that the timing is nearly impossible to get right if you do them our of distance. It creates a false sense of time for what you can realistically do given live energy for the drill. It's similar to trying to execute a scissor sweep or any throw with too much space. You're lulled into a false sense of security.

So, he starts an FMA style and names the style after himself? He doesn’t even speak with a Filipino accent which means he grew in North America and not in the Philippines.
