Britain had some great music coming out during the early 2000s: Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and the Kooks. It’s reminiscent to the Britpop wave of the mid 90s consisting of Oasis, Blur, the Verve, and Pulp. What a time to be alive.
@torstenscholz6243
3 жыл бұрын
Add to that list Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, The Libertines, Maximo Park, Blood Red Shoes, The Subways, Badly Drawn Boy, Snow Patrol and many more. The mid-2000s were indeed the last really great time for Britpop, Garage and Indie rock. A new wave of bands of that quality really should happen again, the sooner the better. This is real music and soooo much better than the soulless edm crap that dominates the charts nowadays.
@Stoneman180190

@@torstenscholz6243 2010s has Royal Blood, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Nothing but thieves, Basement, Two Door Cinema Club, Kodaline and Foals. Not too many but a saving grace for the EDM crap. Hopefully that gets the wheels in motion for a revival.

Been looking for this song for a decade. Literally a decade. I've tried humming the f*cking intro riff into Shazam & SoundHound coz that's the only part I know well. Then I heard part of it from some video I just watched, and you better believe I downloaded Shazam into another phone just to make it listen to that video! Within seconds, I found it. I went to their first gig in México city. I won two tickets through a university radio station. The concert was great. They played the songs of this album. I invited a guy and we went together. This happened like 15 years ago approx or more. I feel nostalgic. Time really flies. I wish I could come back! Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
There is so much emotion in that song... *It's provocative!, It get's me going!"
I remember listening to this album on an anti-skip portable CD player, riding my bike to work at McDonalds when I was 16... damn time flies.
Please excuse me while I dance on a motel bed with my little brother and his dog.

Even worse sequel of an already bad game
The debut album is ridiculously good.
Can't stop listening to this song, November 2022. Brings back so many early adulthood memories. Anyone else listening to this in their mid 30s? We had such good music in high school. Going to live performances with my friends was my life ❤

It's Nov 27th 2022, I work in retail. I am 27. This song is my escape from this chaotic Black Friday
First discovered this in 2005. I was 12 years old and I had this as my myspace page song. It brings back so many memories
I came from Life Is Strange 2 where Sean and Daniel dance on the bed at the motel in Episode 1: Roads!

I truly have had immaculate taste in music my whole life. It’s rare that I feel silly about something I used to really love. Bloc party was really important to me in like 2005.

A heart of stone, a smoking gun I can give you life, I can take it away A heart of stone, a smoking gun I'm working it out, ah Why'd you feel so underrated? Why'd you feel so negated? Ha-ha Turning away from the light Becoming adult Turning into my soul I wanted to bite, not destroy To feel her underneath Turning into the light She don't think straight No-no-no she don't think straight She's got such a dirty mind and it never-ever stops And you don't taste like her and you never-ever will And we don't read the papers, we don't read the news And it's never enough, we will never be fooled Turning away from the light Becoming adult Turning into my soul I wanted to bite, not destroy To feel her underneath Turning into the light And if you feel (and if you feel) a little left behind We'll await you on the other side And if you feel a little left behind We'll await you on the other side 'Cause I'm on fire 'Cause you know I'm on fire when you come 'Cause you know I'm on fire 'Cause you know I'm on fire so stub me out 'Cause I'm on fire 'Cause I'm on fire 'Cause I'm on fire 'Cause I'm on fire

Haven’t heard this song in years, but last night a dj blended this so beautifully into her set. Took me back to those middle school days :•)
Such a lovely chorus, the way the bass and the drums lock in. The off time vocals emphasise the awesome work the drums are doing.

Loved this song at 17. Love this song at nearly 32. I come back every few years and fall back in love with them. “She got such a dirty mind and it never ever stops...” Edit: back at 35 and still love it.

This song is giving me strength in 2021, thank you
I miss the 00's. Everything was in that awkward stage of transitioning to everything we had now. It was simple and everything on the internet was still super dorky. When nobody realized that downloading Zwinky, Cursor Mania, and all of that other bullshit bloated down your computer. Actually, why the fuck do I miss that?

HOLY CRAP! It's been 15 years!!??? 😱
Throwback to junior year of high school: staying up til 4:30 AM, listening to indie bands and having a near-complete distaste for mainstream music.
I first heard this about a decade ago from a Badass Snow Boarding video Game
