You can tell stolas just wants to be loved though, he had a pretty distant relationship with his daughter before the first episode, and his wife seemed to only think of him as an embarrassment and didn’t seem to care much for him. Our owl just wants to be loved and feel loved, but it appears he doesn’t understand how to achieve those feelings, so he turns to sex and lust in order to feel special. That’s not the way to go though...
