Worked for MY Acer.... I think the cable on my charger was bad so I bought a new one. Lights blinking issue started when I started trying to use the new cable, but now it's good! Thanks Brian!

I have the same, now replaced a battery, before replacing the charging light was blinking when i plugged in, i was thinking it may be due to battery which was completely discharged. After replacing, when my laptop is off, battery is charging normally, but when laptop is on and i connect the charger the led lights start blinking. Please suggest a solution

Multi Engineer you might want to check the charging cable as well. I just found out mine is damaged.

I think if the charger has the problem, then why it is charging the battery when laptop is on shut down?

Just WOW. Changed 3 batteries, changed AC adapter, then looked at this video and it helped) Thanks a lot!

Worked, thanks! If you have a model where you can't unplug the battery, you can put in a pin in a small hole to disconnect it. I found plenty of guides how to open the back of the laptop and unplug the battery, it's not necessary.

I own a Aspire 5 A515-52G-50NT, silver. This is November 30th 2022. If you have the same issue of both leds blinking this method works, but do as i say. 1 - Turn your device over, and before opening it, look for the battery image craved on the carcass next to a little hole, but DON'T USE THE HOLE, it's just a reference to find the battery restart button for when you open the carcass. 2 - Take off all the screws, open the carcass, then unplug the battery from the motherboard AND the thingamabob on the left. Proceed to take off the battery screws, make sure it's absolutely removed. 3 - Press and hold the battery restart button for 30 seconds, then open the laptop again and hold the power button for another 30 seconds. 4 - Put the battery on, hook it back on the motherboard and the thingamabob on the left, and ONCE THE BATTERY IS BACK ON, repeat step 3. DON'T WORRY it's not meant to turn on once you release the power button, it's ok. 5 - Reassemble the device completely and plug the charger on the power jack, then check the battery led to see if it's on. 6 - Turn on the device, and do not worry if it takes 2-3 attempts for it to turn on, eventually it will, if it doesn't, just hold the button for a little longer. 7 - This is just an extra step: this procedure may restart another BIOS settings such as the behavior of function keys (f1-f12) in accordance with the fn button. So check those, i noticed it when alt-f4 didn't work. To go to the BIOS and redo the settings, just use windows interface, settings -> recovery -> advanced start -> restart now -> then choose that option that looks like a small chip, written firmware or something of the kind. @briandoliver Thank you so much for this, i did it once through the hole in the carcass to button reach the button with a needle and it didn't work, i was about to buy a new battery then a new laptop, but it worked as soon as i removed the battery completely for some reason. It worked!! I do not need to remove my acer laptop battery as there is some sort of switch to turn off the battery on the motherboard beside the ram slot. Now my laptop is not discharging anymore

guys i had same issue followed video worked for 10 sec then issue came on again... I had a spare charger and tried laptop with that ,,now it works 100% so if above thing fails,just try with other adapter and different amper!!

Quick question: Power outages aside, is it okay to keep using the laptop with the blinking orange led light error anyway, just keeping it plugged to the AC charger all the time? Would it cause any damages to the hardware?

Omg, thank you so much. It worked! I was going to buy a new battery after changing my power plug twice.

It will happen again. This is just a temporary fix. I have this problem for years! Replacing the thermal paste does help. From my experience, probably this is related with overheating, witch leads to more power needed. It happens every time i push a little more the laptop resources. I remember to read that may help change the internal power jack. I bought the cable but never actualy replaced. You can see how to do it in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mXZtlqhrk6ergto.html
