Love all your upgrades. I’m thinking of doing some, mostly solar panels, to my Montana 3781rl Legacy but there’s not a lot of payload capacity. When I weighed mine that only contained enough stuff for 2 days, empty tanks except for about 40 gallons of fresh water, I was just under 600 Lbs from the limit of 16.6 k Lbs gross weight. Have you weighed yours with all those additional items? Mine came with dual pane windows, no Onan generator, just 100 lbs portable generator. I did install 1020 Ah of LiFePo4 and a Magnum 3000 watt hybrid inverter.

  • @WhyNotRV

Short answer is it depends on your internet setup. If like mine, on 24/7 even while towing, yes it could be used for that. However there may be more of a lag from live video to your device than I would be comfortable using for parking or anything like that.

I bought these for my house. With the increase in Catalytic converter thefts in the area, I wanted to monitor my vehicles. Video quality is good but the depth of field for motion detection sucks. 20 ft or less. People are most if the way up my driveway before it starts recording. Of course, it'll (I have 3)pick up a gnat buzzing around the camera or a cat on the ground, but actual people, not so much. They could break into 2 of my cars and the cameras wouldn't even pick them up.

We have one outdoor blink that we use inside the RV. It is pointed at the door. We also ditched the little stand it came with, since it kept falling off while the RV was moving, with a stronger one sold on Amazon. I’m not sure anything will keep the cameras from vibrating off while attached to the outside.. maybe you’ve figured that out?

Unfortunately a small dab of Silicone would’ve prevented me from losing 2 of the cameras. I have now since replaced them and done just that but haven’t driven yet so we will see. But the fact that the other 2 have hung on since the original install is promising. I just drove through some extreme conditions.

If the base is secured with screws, that should keep them intact. What I found fails is where the cameras connect to the base. You can’t glue that because you need to remove the camera to change batteries.

@@WhyNotRV Thanks for the response! A couple years ago I put a similar system in my house (Eufy) because it had local storage (SIM card) in the base station and did not require a subscription to store the footage. Someone said that as long as I was on my home WiFi the phone app would communicate directly with the base station and work fine without an Internet connection. I bought a ups for it and thought I was ready for whatever outages would come. Just found out the app will only talk to the Eufy servers, not the base station. The only functionality of the system thru the app without Internet is view a live feed from a camera, no motion detection, no notifications, etc. Someone should do this right and make a standalone wireless system. Still looking...

I have a sprinter van and mount mines inside all the windows, the sides are ok, not great. I'm using a flexible phone mount and that solution is not optimal. I will be making my own mount with cloth and suction cups, I think that will provide better mounting. I have one phone mounts falls off every blue moon, but the other four are great. I have the 5 system and have one inside, and the others mounting in the windows in each direction. Lastly, the front really sucks since the windshield slopes and at night with my window shades, it reflects the black cloth. I thought of mouning them outside and I'm glad I watched this video, I know the most point of failure would be the blink mount and I was definitely not going to use the included mounts. A camera mount with the blink in silicon case is what I was thinking, tethered with a security strap (ziptie and adhesive loop).

I installed those on my van so many problems, batteries won't last 2 months, sync prob all the time, won't motion detect half the time, will start recording when there's already movement, has a 10 seconds trigger time between each videos with no filming don't ask me why. No thumbnail if you don't pay the subscription for the cloud which makes it difficult to find a past event. They gives you 3 months of free subscription after that every thing start to go south and you can't return the cameras because it's too late. Even if you wire the door bell which I did, you still need batteries. Now no clip are being recorded but i see live view and can't find a solution, if i reset everything it work for a day then problem come back. Absolute garb4ge surveillance system Don't buy these believe me
