This is one of the many reasons why Springsteen is my all time favorite artist. He is humble. He is genuine. He is relatable. He’s insanely talented and he puts on one hell of a show. Most importantly he takes time to personally connect with the fans. He clearly appreciates, admires and cares for us. These impromptu performances aren’t planned, they’re definitely running on the fly and that is why he is such a BADASS in my book. You’d never see this at a Swift show, or Chainsmokers, Bieber, Zedd, Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga and practically every other artist. Security would have the fan thrown out in no time. We need more artists like The BOSS!

That was absolutely brilliant! That kept me laughing all the way through. And wasn't that a lovely thing for Bruce Springsteen to do!

I attended this show at Barclays Center on 4/25/16, and this was a true highlight. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's genuine connection with their audience amplifies their greatness.

What I like most is the fact, that usually, when someone gets a kid on stage, they already know about the abilities and to be honest, the girls singing skills are not even basic, but Springsteen didn't even care, he gave her the time to shine and she will always remember those minutes.

In 1977 Manfred Mann's version of this song led me to discover Bruce in the first place. I haven't looked back since. This girl proves that Bruce will be loved long after he's gone.

It's funny how Bruce has dozens of songs that are spectacular but his version of this song actually sucks. Manfreds was way way better.

I understand how you can hear it that way. However remember this was on Bruce's first album where the budget wasn't much I'm sure. Also it was before Max joined the band. Might have been before Clarence as well. Anyway the thing that impressed me were the lyrics. This was written by a 23 year year old? That's amazing.

Reclining_Spuds With all the theatrics, and extra production, etc., most would think that Manfred's version would be the better version. I used to think that way until my taste in music matured and developed a taste for raw uncut music in its purest form.

The lyrics are wild and loads of fun. Take a right at the light, head straight on through the night, then boys you're on your own! I love the funky high speed breakneck version from 1974 that's on here. That has a great solo in it.

Bruce does this at a lot of his shows, and that what makes his so great. He connects with his fans and interacts with them. His shows are always entertaining and his cover-song catalogue is insane. You never know what he and E-Street might pull off on any given night. Every show is unique.

This is one of the greatest people on the face of the earth. He writes about the people the everyday shit that we went through when we were young. And now it's the same SHIT just a lot older.
