Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men, Storm is second in command. I'm glad Cyclops is finally getting treated with justice. I'm not even the biggest Cyclops fan but they be doing him dirty especially in the movies smh.
This is a continuation of the 90’s series, which is awesome. I highly recommend watching those, it’s only 76 episodes.

Oh... I wonder what someone who never watched OG X-Men and only knows them from the movies thinks... But on the other hand, it's a BIG continuation, so they're probably not gonna explain a whole bunch. I think you SHOULD watch the old X-Men Animated Series before this, so you're aquainted with the cast. All the available voice actors even came back! The only ones not reprising their roles are Cyclops, Magneto (both VAs died) and Morph, for some reason.

The original X-men animated series from the 90s is one of the best superhero series of all time. I highly recommend that you watch it before the new series premiers.
Not sure if you noticed the newspaper. I was a Daily Bugle newspaper. Also 2 of the side stories are "Is Spider-Man a Mutant" and Hellfire Club gala.

You should definitely watch the original '92 cartoon first. They are picking up right where season 5 left off. I can already tell from this trailer that the new '97 season expects you to be familiar with the animated characters and contains some spoilers for the old show. If you have only watched the live action X-Men movies, you're going to be confused.

Um with what happened in the trailer there's more than one thing you'll miss if you skip the original and just do 97 first.
