This saga really is about the Sins of the Fathers: 1. Mary Jane was hurt so badly by her father's abandonment and nearly lost herself 2. Fisk's dad left him to rot and his cruelty helped make him into the Kingpin 3. Fisk left his own son in jail to save himself, repeating the cycle of revenge 4. Daredevil was trying to avenge his own father after Fisk took so much from him 5. Alistair lost so much trying to help his own father thanks to Osborn and Kingpin 6. Alisha is left the burden of continuing Silvermane's empire after his schemes failed 7. Norman has now hurt Harry and Peter both in having lost himself to his madness It really puts into perspective how much impact the choices of the past can affect the present and how important it is to be better than those who came before.

A little technical bonus between Venom and Carnage as well. With a father having accidentally created a monster worse than himself to the point of doing whatever it takes to put him down.

He is the best Spider-Man, with apologies to Josh Keaton. Takes a lot to convey that berserker symbiote rage... or his rage towards Green Goblin and Madam Web after losing Mary Jane. Or... well, not spoiling Season 5 here.

If you watched the Spider-Man movie, you can see the massive influence the animated series had on the film. The mirror scene, the bridge with MJ(though its gwen in the comics), the way Green Goblin dies with the glider fakeout. Even the symbiote saga influenced a lot of Spider-Man 3, Raimi really took a lot of inspiration from this show.

This is why I love watching superhero cartoons before the live action stuff. I love seeing how much the movies are influenced by some of the previous works. Even this episode was heavily influenced by the comics.

To be fair, the bridge scene and Goblin's fate were originally from the comics in the first place, so both productions took the same inspiration for those scenes.

What made me really notice the show’s influence on the Raimi movies was the symbiote-window parallel, where it’s pretty much shot for shot. That was what opened up my eyes to the possibility of this show and those movies having some sort of connection.

One of *the* most intensely memorable bits of television, ever. Homage to the equally landmark 'The Night Gwen Stacy Died' in the comics, but with Mary Jane instead and using a portal instead of breaking her neck since they couldn't show that. You cannot convince me that the mirror scene between Norman and the Goblin didn't inspire the one in the Raimi films. Quite the dark twist, having a falling out between Spidey and Madam Web, the former rejecting the training and his destiny out of grief, resulting in a downer ending for the entire season. As for the rest of this show, I would recommend trying to put the last 5 episodes of S5 in the same block. That's the real 'final ultimate battle'.

John Ohnn - The Spot is a pun on Johnny-on-the-spot, a person who is at hand whenever needed. I SERIOUSLY don't understand people writers never use Spot. Why is he a joke? His power is one of the coolest and most powerful! You can't hit him, he can be anywhere, he can redirect your attacks and send you anywhere too. He's genuinely OP and I can't wait for Beyond the Spiderverse Portal is one of the most acclaimed games and that's his power!

The last episode is the recreation of the 1972's comic, where Green Goblin discovers Spider-Man's secret identity, and after a fight on Washington Bridge, he kills Gwen Stacy (Spider-Man's girlfriend at that time). The main difference being that Mary Jane replaces Gwen Stacy here, and that neither Mary Jane, nor Green Goblin die (they are just sucked in the portal, as they had to censor it for tv). Also the title of this episode ("Turning Point") is one of three titles of the original comic (the others being "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" and "The Green Goblin's Last Stand")
