Fun Fact: Before The Perfect Pear, there was an unused concept for explaining what happened to Applejack's mother (who was named Apple Crisp). Apparently in this story, their mother made a wish on... I forget what. The wish was that she could make anything she touched grow big. This was so that she could be that much better of a farmer. However, when she gave her son (Big Mac) a hug, it caused a major growth spurt, explaining why he's as big as he is. Out of fear of touching the ones she loves, one night she leaves home to live in the forest so that she would be away from ponies. This could also explain why the Everfree Forest is so unruly. Simply put, their mother would've gained a farmer's version of the Midas Touch. The reason I bring up that unused episode idea is because I think this episode uses elements from that story. Specifically, if that episode happened, there wouldn't have to be much that needs to be changed in this episode. And it would take away some of the mystery of who/what the Great Seedling is. It would've been Apple Crisp. That scrapped episode however doesn't explain anything about who their father is though, nor does it explain what happened to him. And that episode would take away from Faust's original idea of having their parent's dead, which is sad, but more meaningful in my opinion. And I think the idea of their mother having to leave ponykind because of having the "Farmer's Touch" actually makes things more disturbing. In my opinion, I think it's better to be orphaned because your parents died than because they just abandoned you. I suppose the best case scenario is if they couldn't actually provide for a child and wanted the child to have a better life than the parents could provide.

4th, I'm sure of that. Excluding all the reply's. EDIT: Okay, MLP is a world with magic and mythical beasts, and you people still think some stuff is still just Legends? Tales? The Pony of Shadows was real, Starswirl and the Pillers were real, why can't Seedling be real? I mean, your just going to thin at first that it was set up?
