Fun fact about that part with the "stranger" showing up out of nowhere in the Luck demonstration: That actually happens with a luck-based Perk called "Mysterious Stranger" Just about everything you see here is just an exaggerated depiction of something you can do in the games

Third game and new vegas, stranger was able to take out multiple targets if you got lucky. Namely instead of one shotting enemies, the stranger emptied his revolver to a single target and if anyone was unlucky to be in his way(enemies and allies alike), they got iced too.

The Fallout series is really a interesting games of what if The Great War ended all humanity but those who couldn't get into vaults perished. With the exception of 76 downfall being Multiplayer Co-op game.

If you want to get into the fallout series then you really need to know that the series is really split right down the middle in terms of style and game design Fallout 3,4, and 76 are mainly looter shooters with a large focus on making you feel powerful with little effort Fallout 1,2, and new vegas are heavily centered around role playing, character building, and player choice

[citation needed] Have you actually played NV or 2 lately? NV is infamously a huge power fantasy compared to the bleak survival challenge that is 3, and 2 is more than happy to throw wave after wave of the same enemies at you when it's not busy being an in-depth role-play system. The design philosophies of Beth and Obsidian are different, but I swear people have mythologized that to the point of total absurdity.

  • @professionalidiot4485

@@nessesaryschoolthing You can become absurdly powerful in both NV & 3 , which is a fault of both games but I genuinely can't see how 3 is more challenging in any way except in barter placement and starting area, but more so NV not only makes you work a bit more for your wasteland god status but you also can't be a god of everything leading to a bit more challenge and planning Overall 3 & NV get you to 2 types of power fantasy 3 is all about just getting you to god status NV is about figuring out how you'll get to your god status and what type of god status it will be

@@Xcycobob56X Mm, I suppose F3 would be a better introduction for a new player, especially with how the mechanics start out before they are kinda refined in NV. I was mainly talking from my own experience, since I had not played F3 until several years after NV, and F3 wasnt nearly as... fun to me? Mainly because the enemies took a million bullets to put down and the SM's had super precision for their long range snipers, haha (and the companions were glorified pack mules in F3, no personality)... but it was still a very good game otherwise, would recommend for the story and atmosphere!

I preferred FO3 to FNV, though it’s fair to say they have different strengths. Bethesda is especially good at making random exploration fun and rewarding. The Capital Wasteland is more entertaining to explore than the Mohave. The smaller, isolated stories are also more interesting. Bethesda is good at making memorable “dungeons” out of ruined buildings, that wrap around and end with quality rewards. FNV has better combat, better dialog options, and generally a better story with branching paths. Basically, Obsidian is better at the Roleplaying part of RPGs. But I found the desert quite dull. The main missions lead you by the nose to every area of the map (compared to FO3’ story only covering a small area of the map), so there’s very little to find on your own. They made smaller, more realistic buildings, which were less interesting to delve. And they put far fewer rewards at the end of them (skill books, Special bobbleheads, unique weapons, etc.). FNV’s big thing was Star bottle caps, and who cares? Though to be honest, I like FO4 the most, with one major caveat. The dialog system absolutely sucks. I’d blame the voiced protagonist, but really Bethesda just used that as an excuse for butchering the options and poorly trying to copy BioWare (who I think does the dialog wheel mechanic infinitely better). But beyond that, I like the weapon mods a lot, I like settlement building, and the exploration is phenomenal. I got lost for 100+ hours in ruined Boston.
