This is the most evocative, haunting, emotional song Home Free ever did. As a veteran, this brings tears every time. It's amazing.
As a Veteran this one always hits deep, but especially this morning RIP Toby Keith and thank you Mr. Keith for all you did for the military.

Thank you for your service. May God bless you and yours.
This song was inspired by the Falklands War, which was going on when Dire Straits lead singer Mark Knopfler wrote the song. The Falklands War was a conflict between Argentina and the UK over islands off the coast of Argentina that each country claimed rights to. The islands are British territories, but in 1982 Argentina tried to reclaim one of the islands. Britain reclaimed their territories, but lost 258 soldiers in the conflict. In this song, Mark Knopfler sings about a soldier who is dying on the battlefield, surrounded by his comrades, who remain by his side as he slips away. It's a look at the folly of war and the plight of those who fight them. "We've got just one world but we live in different ones," he told the BBC. "It's just stupid, it really is. We're just foolish to take part in anybody's war."

great description!
Tim is the bass. They have a whole Patriotic album called "Land Of The Free" Tim wrote the title track. I believe this song was on it.
Just listened to this beautiful song again and your reaction to it, touches my heart for all of our soldiers, past & present for "keeping our FREEDOM!" Never to be forgotten!

Yes to this song!
In my opinion, this is one of Home Free's masterpieces. The haunting, melancholy melody and angelic harmonies in this version give me 'the feels' every time I hear it. And the video goes so well with the message of the song. So excellently done by Home Free ! (BTW: 90% of viewers not subscribed is actually not terrible. It is typical that the number of viewers is many times higher than those subscribing to the channel.)

Oh .. okay! Thanks for that tidbit.
"We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms."
You need to react to their cover of God Bless the USA. Be sure to pick the o e featuring Lee Greenwood and the Singing Sergeants of the Air Force band.
Tim Fouts is the deep bass and Chance is the baritone in this and however do not underestimate the ranges of the guys . Great reaction kid 👍

At some point you should do God Bless the USA. They have 2 versions, and I would strongly recommend the version in which they collaborate with Lee Greenwood and the Singing Sergeants of the USAF band. It will knock your socks off. BTW, God Bless the USA is an example of the many videos they did remotely during lockdown. You will recognize these because they are not really together, as with the When a Man Loves a Woman video. The boys kept putting out a new video every two weeks and it really brightened that dark period and gave us something to look forward to.
Home Free always pays appropriate respect in their covers--especially to the content! Their talent is amazing--and I LOVE their 5-part harmony❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥 #HomeFree

I really do like them esp their songs like this!!
Although the songwriter (Mark Knopfler) wrote "Brothers in Arms" during the Falklands War, he had an unusual perspective on the horrors of war. His grandfathers fought on opposite sides of WWII.
Tim is the Bass Chance is the Baratone Austin is the high tenor Rob is a lower tenor but also goes high. Chris's Rupp is the awesome beat boxer

Adam Rupp is the beat boxer. Chris Rupp was replaced by Adam Chance. Adam and Chris started the band
This arrangement was actually done by Swedish group "Club for Five" (mixed acapella). Tim heard it and asked if HF could do it. Obviously, they were given permission. Personally, I think that "Do You Hear What I Hear" is their absolute best song.
A couple different patriotic songs from Home Free that you'll probably love are: *Land of the Free" 🇺🇸🦅 (fun, upbeat title song from their patriotic album, written by Tim Foust, the bass guy) and *Travelin' Soldier* 👩🏽✈️ (cover/upgrade/rewrite of an older song. Gorgeous harmonies!). Oh!! Also, their version of *My Country 'tis of Thee* is absolutely beautiful! 💞

I love Travelin' Soldier by the Dixie Chicks.
I am a middle-aged man and I have the same reaction as you just had, when listening to this.
Tim is the bass. Him and Chance were the perfect ones to do the leads in this because it's a very somber song and their deeper registers draw you in.
I am a combat veteran ( Vietnam ) You can not possibly know the good you have just done . Thank you for this and God bless you .

John is from WV! We'll add it to the list. Thank you (:
This one makes a lot of reactors cry. I hope you have tissues nearby. This song applies to any soldier sent to fight for their country, whichever it is. Especially any who lay down their life in battle. Home Free has a lot of patriotic songs on their list. Take a look and you will find few originals as well.
#HOMEFREE...hauntingly beautiful!
I'm a veteran (and a new subscriber) and this song gets me every time. Thank you for reacting to this. If you're looking for Valentines suggestions, Home Free's cover of Thomas Rhett's "Die A Happy Man" is my suggestion! Great reaction, keep them coming!
Thank you for a wonderful and emotional reaction to this amazing video! The bass singer is Tim Foust, and he is truly phenomenal.
A powerful song with hauntingly beautiful lyrics, harmonies and layering! #HomeFree never disappoints!
Tim Foust is the deep base (5 octave range), Adam Chance (Chance) (4 octave range) is the baritone. The other singers left to right, Adam Rupp, beatboxer and tenor, center, Rob Lundquist, tenor and on the right Austin Brown, high tenor.
Home Free's cover of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" Is about two brothers drafted into the Military during WWII. The one Brother is telling his grandson about the experience. The song is pure harmony heaven. Already subscribed, darlin. Tim Foust is the bass. Adam Chance (Chance) is the baritone/bass Rob Lunquist is the lead tenor Austin Brown is the high tenor or countertenor Adam Rupp is the percussionist/beatboxer
Beautiful tribute to fallen soldiers 😢. When Chance says you did not desert me my Brothers in Arms gets me and when Tim said every man has to die.
Hauntingly beautiful. Tim is the bass and Chance is the baritone/bass. Loved the echoes. Tim and Chance looked ghost like in the windows. Just a wonderful rendition. It was first done by Dire Straits in the 80’s about the Falkland’s war. Good reaction!!!😍😄
This song makes me cry ever single time.

I have to add, I love the background.
Aren't those harmonies fantastic? And Tim and Chance's l-o-w-voices were perfect for it. If you do Go Rest High, if military 'sadness' gets to you, you might want to avoid the official video and instead watch the "Church Sessions" one instead. The music is glorious in both of them, but the video can be distracting in the official one - and the "Church Sessions" one is a live performance.

Oh okay. Thank you for that tidbit.
It's a Dire Straits cover
This song was written by Paul Knoepfler, the lead guitarist and singer of Dire Straits about the Falkland Wars in the early 80's between Great Britain and Argentina.

@@markpfeiffer9367 The song itself was written in response to the 1982 Falklands War. This particular version, yes, they are showing an American cemetery, but I doubt even HF would travel abroad simply to film an Argentinian or British cemetery for it. The sentiment is timeless, and truthfully, the HF men are far too young to be re-living the Vietnam War.
Very cool hey i also rec voice play accapella the cover Valhalla calling and geoff castelluchi deep bass cover man of constant sorrow you will enjoy them too
