One of, if not, the best the band has ever put out. Years of work that is so worth the experience. It is my soundtrack for my hour long drive home almost every day.

It's a very common thing to say but this album is underrated. And I was among first ones to underestimate it. I had to get back to it after some time and a friend insisting it is worth second chance. And it does! But I personally don't listen to it with narratives, I only listen to tracks. I tried to read the book as well, but to me it's not interesting and way to flat, maybe because it was created just for the album. But all that in mind I appreciate the effort put into it: book, story and narration together as a bonus you usually don't get with a standart album. It is great and everyone participated in it should be proud of this monumental work. It takes a lot of courage as well to make something like this when you know for sure a lot of people won't get it (I think they did expect it). So, bravo! And we're waiting for the concert version. Do it in Czech republic, Krefeld or wherever, I think there'll be enough people willing to come and see this.

I guess I'm seeing the live-action component, but will there be a remaster for the 4th anniversary as well? I really love Legacy of Dark Lands. It's probably in my top 3 concept albums, and I'd happily say it's the culmination of everything BG has been slowly working towards on the orchestral side. But the balancing on the album was really quite lacking. Shockingly so. It's really quite frustrating that I know there is lots of effects and details both of the ochestra and in the interludes ("Betwen the Realms" being a prime example), but no speaker system I own or have had access to in the last 4 years has been able to play it well, because those details are buried under bass and over-amplied bits. The best listen I've ever had of the album was on a $10-15 set of wireless bluetooth earbuds, where I assume the inability to reproduce bass and/or push enough power when the brass/percussion peaks out the mix actually resulted in what I think is the closest I've gotten to the original vision for the performance. If it wasn't for those earbuds, I might not have had the chance to fall in love with the album.
