Blind Guardian is one of the pioneers of Power Metal along with Halloween and Gamma Ray. The Bard's song is from an album telling stories from Lord of The Rings and all their albums are really worth listening too

Blind Guardian are a fantastic band, and the Metal community is simply the best 🤘

I have seen so many reaction videos, but this one has to be one of my favorites. Simply because of your sweet recap of how you transitioned into loving metal. It is the same for all of us, just at different stages of our lives. And it will never let you go. I hope you keep enjoying it for the rest of your lives.

I absolutely love it when people expand their musical tastes. It broadens your perspective. I swear the more music you discover, the more you learn about yourself.

Power metal - just one of many metal subgenres, but that's the music that made me fall in love with metal and I used to listen to it for the most part of my life. I have already suggested it somewhere to you, but I'll repeat. I think you would love "Mirror Mirror" (song by Blind Guardian, as well)! You should really give it a try. 😉 And also to other power metal bands that I also mentioned somewhere. 🤪 Bands like Helloween, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius... well, there are so many of them. (Btw, Sabaton is also power metal) What is common for all power metal bands is that the music makes you happy and energized. But also they usually have really wonderful ballads. The main difference among them is the topic of their lyrics. Well, this is just the shortest possible explanation of power metal... Just wanted you to have a general idea of what it is. So, not all metal sounds like this. Most of subgenres are actually a lot heavier. But it's really the whole science. 😂 And I just wanna say that I had the pleasure to go to Blind Guardian concert many years ago and it was amazing. 🖤 They are really nice, lovely guys.

I was there, and believe me, after the show, when the people are walking to other stages or the campground, they sing Valhalla on and on and on...goosebumps...and after all the years I'm watching that video again and again to get some good vibes in bad times. Really hope you check some more blind guardian out, they have some really epic live material out there. I'd recommend "Imaginations from the other side", "I'm alive" and "Nightfall", but there is so many good songs.

It was the same with me: starting with Nightwish and now... I need more space for my Metal CDs! (I don't like streaming etc.)

If you love this as it looks like, I recommend their first four/five albums. Afterwards they started to put more focus on atmosphere and keyboard based sound carpets. Still great, though, but this energy will be found in their older days. My personal faves are "Tales from the twilight world" and "Somewhere far behind"

Blind Guardian is one of the pioneers of powermetal in germany and The Bards Song is somewhat of an unofficial anthem of Wacken Open Air. Every metal fan knows it whether s/he is actual fan of BG or not. You are not even allowed on the festival grounds if you can't at least sing the first verse. Plus there are a few thongs where Hansi (the singer) could set down a mic on stage and point it to the audience to have them do the work instead. The Bard Song, Valhalla, Mirror Mirror, ...
