Getting use to your ADHD is learning process. As you go along you will learn what works best for you. My cousin always tells me to turn negative thought into positive. I lose things on occasion with ADHD as well. I feel like if like say my keys don't have a " home" then I lose them. You will learn coping mechanisms that will help. My family members have ADHD. There are different coping and interaction you do with them that are instinctive bit they also might be coping tools. For example my brother helped me do the hedges but he hated cleaning up. So he cut and I cleaned behind him.

I have never related to someone else as much as Mica. It literally made me cry. Because it's hard not to take it so personally when you're so aware of the things you want to work on about yourself. You want to do better and it stings when someone doesn't want to take that "risk" with you. Also it gets hard to believe you'll ever find a loving partner after years of failed attempts to even get past the talking stage for me personally. It's just not in my cards at the moment (a long ass moment). I'm just trying to accept that and live my life to the fullest without it. I hope Mica doesn't get as discouraged as I have

When Mica asked if they were going back, it broke my heart. RSD is common with people with ADHD, and I wonder if they struggle with it. It did seem like that to me. I also think that once they mentioned their ADHD, almost all the questions they were asked were aimed at bringing out their "potential negative attributes" while others were given very light, easy questions that made them look good.
when she said she doesn’t understand how people have friends that are different from themselves i took that as a major red flag. it’s so fun to have friends who are different from you but similar in the aspect that you both respect each other and are open-minded to what you don’t necessarily share in common
@OliVia-mp6bw

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm a white woman, and the vast majority of my friends are Latina women. I've learned and grown so much because of them. I love learning about how they view things and how they experience their lives differently than mine. I was also adopted into a Persian family, and once again I have learned and grown so much thanks to being brought into a Persian-American culture. While I was raised with certain experiences and perspectives, and those are valuable on their own, I've really gained so much from being able to learn from other's experiences and perspectives. I'm sad that a lot of people aren't open to being friends with people that are different from them, because being friends with different kinds of people in my experience has enhanced my life to the point where I'm now truly content with life, whereas I wasn't before.
@seraphim108

In all fairness, I think she might have ment politics rather than just general differences. Considering her being a wheelchair user, non white, and not straight.. she might be worried someone who doesn't share the same views as her would land into the sexist racist abilist, etc. box.
@gabriellaamaria4986
Жыл бұрын
@@OliVia-mp6bw I agree with you, but I think it's easier to most privileged people to hang out and learn with different kind of people than it's to the different kind of people to hang out and teach. I am saying it not in an offensive way, just sharing my experience as a bisexual mixed Latina woman, who lives in a very inequal country and is poor. I do have white, rich friends, for example, but sometimes it's actually VERY frustrating and it can really sucks. Even though it's a friendship (so I also learn from them and they support me etc.), the very fact that we were from so different backgrounds can drive us to places that, yes, sucks a lot, and it ALWAYS hurts more to me, because I'm the weakest placed on the relationship. So what I'm trying to say is that I totally agree that it's important to have different people around you, but hanging out with people who understand you without you having to teach anything to them is indescribable. Being in a weird situation and just looking at your friend and knowing that they are seeing that this situation is weird, without you having to tell a thing is really, really precious, and this kind of comprehension came from a similar background. I would NEVER blame someone who prefer to interact with similar people because I feel what it's like to be around friends that you love, and are loved by, but they just can't understand the mostly obvious things unless you explain over and over again.
@gemagainst

i mean, i dont hang out with people who have drastically different political and ideological/moral views. my friend group is incredibly diverse irt life experiences, culture, race, sexuality, etc. but its normal and not a red flag to want to have to have a baseline of commonality with the people you spend the majority of your time with.
the "how have you benefitted from other's being oppressed" question is so weird because she forces everyone to answer from the perspective of being privileged no matter their gender, sexuality, disability status, or race but then automatically puts herself in a position of being oppressed... even though she shares so many characteristics of what the others considered to be privileged

Learning about RSD after my ADHD diagnosis as an adult was so eye-opening. Being autistic has helped somewhat, because my personal experience of autism includes the ability to largely delete someone’s opinion from my list of things worth giving a damn about unless I respect them or want them to think positively of me. But in those latter cases, limited as the number of people in there is, it’s taken a lot of growing over the course of my life to get even decent at bouncing back from insults and rejections. My heart hurt for Mica watching how her openness was treated so harshly, because it’s such an acute pain in a way I don’t think NTs really understand. She seems amazing (and actually reminds me a lot of someone I’ve recently been seeing and *really* hope I’ll end up dating long-term), and someone had better be open-minded enough to recognize that.

i agree. i will say that it isn’t as much of an issue in this video as it was the last one (of this game). because before they’d say green or red right away so others would know what to say. now the green or red flag is given after everyone responds, which helps. but i still think what you’re saying is true because answering first every time is still a bit of a disadvantage when the others can hear what you said and think about what they will say. that’s why i enjoy the end the most when they get individual questions

I just got the feeling that she was looking for a yes-person more than a partner - it was all about her needs being prioritized and 'speaking up for her' / having the right = her political opinion. I would have loved to see more long term/deeper questions that weren't meant to please her only
It wasn’t intentional, but I feel like mica was asked questions that were a lot more personal and serious compared to the other contestants near the end, which I don’t think works well when comparing the the more easy questions. I personally don’t think it was fair to do it in that way bc the other contestants didn’t really have to share negative things.
Hold on no way you and your partner are both having a bad day and you have to prioritize them or their needs over yours. Don't both parties need to be in the right state of mind before they can actually help one another. Like if I and my girlfriend were both depressed I shouldn't work on my depression I should prioritize hers 💀
These are some of the ABSOLUTE nicest people in their age range I've seen on ANY of the channels of this sort. The balance between emotional intelligence and general awareness is so balanced in each of them.
I also have a problem with isolation and personally I wouldn’t go with someone who also isolates herself, I’d prefer someone who doesn’t so they can help me when I’m in one of my “isolation phases” but at the same time it would be nice to have someone who gets it, right?

I agree. Good things to both sides. Like I’d love someone that relates. The way Mica displayed her vulnerability was amazing. It must have taken tremendous guts to be so open when you knew you were being judged. Before I started watching the video, I scrolled through the comments section and saw so many comments about a Mica. I was eager and also slightly sceptical. But she was so pure and nervous that she made me emotional. Don’t worry, Mica! You will undoubtedly meet your person soon. Rooting for your happiness.
I feel like Mica was the most honest, she was very open about pretty much all of her "dark past" and issues. I think it would've been better if contestants were asked same questions or at least same kind. Like Mica mostly got questions that exposed her red flags meanwhile others got more room to show off their good sides with the questions they got.

I like Mica. I think someone being so self aware says a lot about them and how much thought they are putting into themselves. That’s the biggest green flag.
If we're both having a shit day, why should I prioritize YOU? Are you gonna prioritize me then?
Mica reminds me of myself. With the ADHD ,and her star outfit being overbearing with people. I become super clingy with people and I know relationships ended because of that.

ADHD makes us experience a LOT of social rejection, so it is really hard to not latch onto someone who shows you positive attention 😭 which makes losing them hurt more if things don't work out
I like that this was more inclusive and we see that people with disabilities do have more to their personality than their diagnosis story
I know (as a fellow ADHDer) that Mica will be wondering if she needs to change herself to be more "lovable" because RSD is a thing but what she will hopefully come to realise (as I did when I was about her age) is just because she wasn't right for Marissa doesn't have any bearing on her worth and in fact she needs to be as firm with her needs and boundaries for future partners. Not everyone is a perfect match; someone will really appreciate Destinee's gifts as a reminder when they've had a bad day that someone cares for them, but some (like Marissa) will find it uncomfortable; its finding compatibility, not being universally loved/accepted. I had many bad relationships where I tried to shape myself to someone's needs and it's like trying to bend a spring. Happy to say I am now married to someone who I can communicate with, we understand each other and, very importantly, we have a great support system outside of our relationship too.
I really respect how transparent and honest the one girl is. She has ALOT of integrity and anyone working on themselves is very attractive. I have issues w trauma from controlling & co dependent people and she’s too young etc I wouldn’t have chosen her but overall there’s a lot about her that is attractive & respectable and I hope she’s not too hard on herself bc there’s definitely someone for her!
marissa asked such great questions! it was easy to get answers that werent so replicable and more personalized. great episode

Mica your self awareness and honesty is admirable! A lot of us share the same experiences as you but not many of us will be as honest about it as you are. Just shows you are steps ahead for your self journey and the things you’re wanting to work on.
Not finished yet, but Mica, what a wonderful, sweet and open person you are!! And don't think you should've changed your answers, I think it's best to be open from the get go. It might mean you and Marissa aren't meant for each other, but you will find someone where you can be yourself! And you might have to work on being less overbearing, but everyone will always have things to learn :)
Hey y’all! To clarify, @ 2:43 I meant to say far right not left. I am very much a leftist and for human rights 👀. Also just wanted to say every single person that was a part of this video (including the crew) are absolutely lovely humans. I can’t say enough good about this experience :) thank y’all for watching ❤️

damn... I know people usually don't think of giving and receiving gifts as a positive thing because it sounds materialistic. But, just in my experience, gifts is one of my main love languages. I love to put thought into giving the people I love something, even if it is as small as a bar of chocolate with a note on the side. It's the surprise element when the person is not expecting something, it's a special sort of happiness to see on a person and I love it so much. I never expect anyone to give me something back, but if it a partner, I always make them aware of my love languages. As everyone should. Gift giving and receiving shouldn't be looked down on, if this is your love language so be it! Other people who have the same love language will understand
@eggsbenedict2017

She wasn’t looking down on it though. It’s not her love language. She explained that it doesn’t have the same affect on her and makes her anxious. If one person’s love language makes the other person anxious, then they’re not compatible. It’s good that Marissa recognized that so Destinee’s efforts can be appreciated by someone who will appreciate them :)

@@eggsbenedict2017 yeah I agree. I guess I was speaking more about how people generally think. I know many people might have a negative view when compared to other love languages, that's all
This was so refreshing compared to the last video you did like this. Really friendly group of people, and much deeper questions. Marissa was really sweet to everyone. I'm glad you changed the format so that the flags are given out after everyone has answered the question. It's much more fair. I only have nice things to say about everyone in the video, but I want to give a shout out of Mica. You could see her gradually losing confidence as she got some red flags due to her being honest vulnerable. But just because she isn't the one for Marissa, doesn't mean she isn't the right person for someone else. Don't lose hope!
I never related to someone like Mica ever. They make me so happy to express myself more and thats okay.

I feel like it would be cool to introduce ‘super green flag’ where 1 time or a couple times per episode if someone really likes an answer they’ve heard, they can give them the super green flag which can move them 2 places instead of 1.
Mica seems like such a sweet person..🥺 everyone does
Marrissa: considers talking about politics a red flag Also Marrissa: What do you think it's the time you benefited of someone's oppression? Wonder if the red flag is really reffering to the things that she doesn't agree with.

That's usually what it is. I've encountered many people that love to say "you need to be political" until they realize you don't agree with then 100%, then they'll avoid the topic.

@@diskrisk9145 exactly. The irony is that the views that she perpetuated in those videos are what she defined she was supposedly against, i.e. the far-left. Also wondering if she said that to appear more grounded in the show.

@@diskrisk9145 Same here although I'm a leftist but I'm in a relationship with a conservative. We constantly have discussions about politics in a civil manner and enjoys exploring political theories together. It helped me to reevaluate my views better. Honestly, we agreed with each other more than we disagreed with each other. More people needs to realize that they are more similar in mindsets instead of dividing themselves based on political spectrum. I don't like how she says politics is a red flag then asks it. It's absolutely contradicting. I think she just had an excuse to avoid that discussion and direct her own views on others.

Yea, was very confused why she was asking political questions when she doesn't like politics. Also a ridiculous question to ask a person. I wouldn't have even answered. Everybody needs to apologize for existing nowadays it seems and that question just plays into this notion more.

I thought the same thing! And I haven't seen that many people in the comments pointing it out. She immediately made the conversation exclusively political by asking about oppression and giving green flags to people who agreed with her. She came off as if she doesn't have any tolerance to different viewpoints to me. Specially when she asked about the friend groups of the contestants and said she didn't understand how people could get along when they're very different from each other. I personally consider that it's a very extreme and close minded way to interact with others.
literally cryingggg i never see people in wheelchairs 🥺🥺🥺🥺 makes my heart happy for our future
I think the whole “how are you gonna prioritise me after we both have a bad day” was weird like it sounds selfish
I truly respect and appreciate mica for her honesty!
This was so great to witness 💚💚💚 My mum has been a wheelchair user since I was 3, and you still very rarely see real human interactions portrayed in media with disabled people!
Mica is amazing with her self awareness and accountability in her past relationships. ❤️ Although this wasn't a fit for her she'll definitely benefit in a relationship that's healthy in the future. Don't give up Mica! 🥺
I’m crying so much over the beauty and kindness and artsiness of these people. This is the best episode omggggg y’all gotta give the person that finds these lovely humans a RAISE!!!
Mica warmed my heart and I admire how sincere her answers were. She definitely got asked difficult and uncomfortable questions but it takes guts to be vulnerable (especially since she was with a room filled with strangers). Rooting for her :))))
Zach was literally a walking green flag
Mica, you are an unbelievable soul. I have ADHD too, and I love how honest you were. I think you are so kind, lovely, caring, and beautiful. Thank you for coming on the show, and being a sweetheart. 💖
I love how so u could tell that mica was a lil nervous towards the end but she was so calm and she was so genuine and sweet ❤️ all the contestants we're amazing !

I think some of the wording could have been better, but they’re definitely good questions to ask. For instance, the question where she asked how her partner would prioritize her needs if they’re both having a bad day. I think prioritize is probably not the best word to use.

@@gabimgmg as I kept watching the video I wondered if the producers wrote the questions or whether she did. It’s kinda weird to ask someone to prioritize your feelings/needs over their own, and then say you don’t like people who are codependent or overly affectionate.
Regarding Marissa's statement about not understanding how people can be friends with someone who disagrees with them. You need to let yourself be surrounded by people who don't agree with you all the time, otherwise you will be stuck in your own ways. Your views will never be challenged and you will never evolve as a person.
Everyone was so mature about the questions and the process as a whole! 😊 Definitely the best episode so far, and a good on her part--the chemistry was palpable! 🔥🔥🔥 Nice.
Mica is the absolute cutest omg
this episode seemed so much more genuine than the previous one, I'm glad
mica is so cute and sweet i wish i knew someone like her in real life i see her going places
Extremely deep and complex questions with a good range of mature and honest answers. It was especially heart warming to see so many young people recognise both their privilege and their faults.
Everyone seemed so beautiful and sweet! I think the end result was a great match and i love that her red and green flags were based on compatability rather than roasting them for something that they may be insecure about 😅💚
i admire mica for her honesty and she's just so open with everything i love her ❤i did feel like she had more vulnerable questions tossed her way compared to others at the start 😢
