To me it's just amazing of how close they are

I had a blind cat once, he was not blind since birth. His eyes were infected a few weeks after birth, and my family was going through a particularly difficult time financially, so we couldn't do anything for him. A friend of mine jumped in and took him to a vet for us. The vet said that he would not live for longer than two weeks, and gave us eyedrops and some gel to try and help with his condition. One day, his eyes started to swell and they fell out. Still, I could do nothing. I thought his time was up. I continued to apply the gel to his eyes to at least help soothe his eye area and thank God, it worked. The swelling went down, but my cat was since then fully blind. He grew up deeply attached to me, since I used to feed him every day. He lived past that two weeks the vet had predicted. He was the same as Yang, he would cry when it was silent. His favourite resting place as a kitten was on top of my shoulders, and as he grew up, he started to curl himself around my neck too. I bathed him, fed him, and played with him. He was my favourite cat. He helped tremendously with my depression. I would starve at school to save up and buy him some wet food. He loved them so much. His favourite was tuna. I looked forward to coming home every day from school to see him. He would be waiting for me by my father's old motorcycle, and when he heard my uncle's car pull up into our house compound, he would start meowing until I call out to him. But one day, he was not there. My father told me he had passed while I was at school. It was so sudden. No one knew why. But my father said that he died peacefully in his sleep, a few hours after I went to school. He was almost three years old. We're in a better place now, and we are now able to take our cats to the vet if they're unwell. But I still wish he's still here. I wish God gave him beautiful green eyes when he entered heaven, and I wish the angels will take care of him better than I did.

Same as mine. He's 4 yrs old now. I keep him indoor as I don't want to lose him. I bring him out sometimes but keep a close watch. We sleep together every night. I prefer not to go for a vacation since I can't bear to be apart from him. Hotels won't accept pets.

About 5 years ago, I went to the shelter to adopt a cat. After some time of looking around a kitten caught my attention. I was told shes been there awhile and people would always lose interest after finding out she was blind. I adopted her because no one wanted her or weren't willing to give her a chance. Shes been loved and cared for ever since. Just because an animal is blind doesn't make them any less special. She acts like a perfectly normal cat and has no problems navigating around my place. Animals open their heart for anyone. People still need to learn to do the same for them.

Yes！ this is why we adopt but not buying ！I adopted a black cat for 15 years since she was just 4 months old from an animal shelter, simply because he is black！ i know no one will adopt him, both chinese or eurasians due to superstious reasons！ He might be enthanasia if i did not take him home

That is true, but I'm glad you came along. I'm sure she is grateful to you. I'm glad others didn't adopt her just because she was sweet. If they couldn't provide the care for a "special needs cat", it's good they weren't selfish. It would have harmed her. If you think about it that way, she's lucky it was you. ❤️😊

You yourself have to be protected by rough tough men because you are incapable of defending yourself. If all men were the wimps you describe, mankind would crumble overnight.

I was trying not to cry watching this when my cat jumped in my lap and cuddled up to me to make me feel better ... and I lost it 😭. This is truly beautiful.

I had a blind cat once named Mulan, she had seizures and would panic. She never left her bed until one day she passed away. That was almost a decade ago and I cry thinking about it. Rest In Peace Mulan

It must've been hard, giving up time from his job to make sure the cat is okay. I was amazed by the moment of the cat finding the man based on the footsteps of his shoes in the hall. "I hope she grows healthily without getting sick." So do I.

Cats have incredible hearing. As this little guy gets older and gains experience in using his ears and whiskers and nose to navigate, it will soon be almost impossible to tell he's blind while he's in a familiar place. They can even feel air pressure changes from unexpected obstacles in their path and navigate around them. Kitten should be just fine.

I grew up with a blind cat. They adapt very well, she'll be fine! I'm glad she found such a loving home.

Hey there Darling, I am happy to read that you have a little Tabby in your life that helped you several times over. BELIEVE ME I know how special Pets are. I have two Tabbies myself. They are Apache and Tux. Apache I rescued several times over. The first time when I found her as a Kitten in the streets and two other times when she was really sick and need to go to the Pet Hospital. I paid $2500.00 for her treatment and you know what it was worth it. Tux was left by his previous owner which I quickly adopted. He is a BIG fella just like me and follows me everywhere and when I feeling sad or upset he is there in a flash at my sad and comfort me. Tux is this fella best Friend and Apache is my perfect calcio princess.

Ahjussi is so kind. He really did his best to help her see, and ardently wished for her to have at least one eye working. When he got told it was impossible, he kept petting her like he was comforting her (and himself). He seems like a really good person unlike people who claim to be good.

A stray kitten stood by my back door for a few hours, till I found him. One of his eyes was infected n bleeding. The vet had to remove d eye. He got an infection. It is a kind of a very strong flu, I guessed he was abandoned by his mom. I adopted him, n named him Odín. He has a normal life... thanks to this nice couple this lil lady has survive . Blessings!

SpAzMaNiK it could turn out to be very stressful to his senses though . Their hearing is so much more acute than ours . But I see what you’re saying . Poor little guy . Wish there was some medical miracle where he could have his vision back .

It's okay the cat can get familiar with his environment and learn how to navigate through the entire office as well as home, as long as they don't displace furniture or add new things.

We had to have our cat's eyes removed after he was brutally attacked by a maintenance man in our apartment complex, in retribution for telling management he had not come by to fix our air conditioner. It's heartbreaking, and he was severely depressed after losing his eyesight. I think it is much better for a kitten to be born blind, so they don't know what they're missing. I'm overjoyed that this kitten's infection and pain will be relieved after the operation. Blind cats can do very well. Ours would even jump on the back of my husband's chair and balance there. We used to feed two stray cats, and they took to walking with him and protecting him.

This guy has a beautiful heart. Thank you ❤
