In this first video, I compare in a blind test five alto sax mouthpieces, one vintage Meyer and four others.
Also a saxophonist friend will do these tests in the same way.
The idea is to verify two hypotheses.
1 / All the mouthpieces inspired by the MEYER should all sound well, regardless of their opening and other characteristics.
2 / Independently of the mouthpiece used, one keeps the same sound identity.
In a second video, each tested mouthpiece will be identified and commented by both musicians.
I let everyone make up their own mind to listen, and try to imagine which number corresponds each mouthpiece.
