I like the idea of the mesh basket. It seems the logical next step for all-in-one systems that are essentially biab without the bag. It is similar to reusable coffee filters. I've been toying with the idea of using a more vigorous recic system that keeps the entire mash stirring whirlpool fashion inside of a biab bag. The breweasy compact, with a modified recirc arm to direct a circular flow, might be more suited to the idea as a bag would want to twist and collapse inward and need to have some type of inner support to hold its shape. Can't wait to see what they price it at. Thanks for the first look at it!

It looks to be an amalgam of the single vessel brew systems. A little Spike Solo with the hooks and shape of the basket. A little Clawhammer and Brew Boss with the mesh basket idea, and The Brew Boss with the center pipe infusion mashing sparge arm. Knowing Blichmann I'm sure it'll be pricey.

I own Brewtools and Braumeister systems as I believe they are the best, but am liking this system. Complaints I have with the Solo and Unibrau are that they don’t let you see the volume in the main kettle, resulting in burned elements if the volume gets too low, especially with smaller batches. The original BrewEasy has the same problem and smaller batches aren’t possible (per Blichmann), limiting its versatility. This system has the sight gauge and volume versatility, so it seems to address those issues. Will be interesting to see the price point. Nicely done review!

Great video Brian. Really like the looks of it, but going to stick with my Foundry. Any "upgrade" in the near future is going to be in reverse, maybe to the Foundry 6.5, as the older I get, carrying 5 gallons of wort is getting tough! HAHA… SteamCam - loved that. I got a 1/2” x12” pipe with a camlock and 1/2” NPT fittings welded to it from Brewhardware and riveted it to the side of my Anvil Foundry for a G30 look. I wonder if Bobby from Brewhardware would help make a piece to simulate the same recirculation technique. It would essentially be a “u” shaped SS pipe with a short side that had a camlock welded to it to connect to the SS vertical outside recirculating piping and the longer side would dive into the mash. To do it on the cheep, maybe use a silicone tube with some holes in it and a plug on the end. Cool stuff to think about. Flow is flow whether out the side or through the bottom. The only thing flow is for in any system is to make sure the grains are saturated. Nothing else. It not even necessary really. Early BIAB'ers mashed in, wrapped the cooler or kettle in a blanket and pulled the bag at 60.

Just an old habit I guess. I've always thought that it helped with draining of the mash basket. I suppose it's probably not necessary. It's just one of those things that I've always done.. but knowing what I know about cold sparging probably no point to it. Lol

It did a little I think. I back flushed after filming and had some come out. One of the reasons I'm not a big fan of plate chillers...👍🍻

Just seen other video brew you did in this with the hop spider. How do you normally chill on your home system for IPAs with tons of hops?

@@gilbertonarez9194 I normally use the Jaded Scylla and just dump the hops in. With a riptide pump it rarely gets clogged.
