Another grand anthem of faith from the sacred pen of Mrs. Fanny Crosby. Written in 1886 following a service she attended at the First Avenue Baptist Church in New York City pastored for many years by her good friend and fellow hymn writer,Dr. Robert Lowry. The church building was demolished in 1912 to make room for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company building but a bronze and marble plaque commemorating the church’s historic importance is on the site.

This is one of those hymns widely translated into many local languages (in Africa) and sang across many, many Churches (Baptist and More...) and I think every Baptist Christian should know it if not by heart already, (by text/recall).
