Blending Recordings and Orchestral Samples using Samplicity's Berlin Studio

Музыка

Here's the third and final test video of Samplicity's Berlin Studio convolution reverb plugin. In this video I use an excerpt from "Reflex", a tenor saxophone concerto I composed in 2011.
Thanks so much to saxophonist / composer Greg Johnson for recording the tenor part. Check out his website: www.gregjohnsonjazz.com/

Thanx for the video! Can't make up my mind to buy this thing yet - What can you say about the performance of Berlin Studio? I plan to use it on A LOT of busses in my orchestral template. How CPU-hungry is it?

You're welcome! I personally haven't had any issues with cpu performance, but apparently a lot of people have experienced them. I assume there are lots of factors there, but just for reference, I'm running this in Cubase 12 on a Windows 10 with a Ryzen 7 3700x

I am using it on Mac studio with M1 ultra. And its having endless CPU issues. Might be because of not interacting with M1 well. However as an effect, its fabulous!

I use it on windows 10 in reaper, amd 3600 (6 cores). I have about 30 instsances on my main template, works fine, with dozens of virtual instruments in opus, kontakt, sine all playing in real time. That's a five year old cpu. Pretty efficient I'd say.

Did you play the other tracks manually on a keyboard? Or can you generate them directly through notation software like Finale or Sibelius?

For this project I played everything in with a keyboard.

can you do more videos on this reverb. i'm about to give up on it.. never been able to get a good sound out of it.. this video might help i dunno tho.. i'm using CSS. CSB. .. it sounds horrible to me.. i do not know how to set it up.. Samplicity don't really teach us how to use it. it's meant for a whole orchesra.. someone really needs to make a video showing how to do that with this plugin.. i'm breaking my brain over here and ready to just give up
